just got home from the mondio ring fun match with Casey. they let her in the ring to be assesed by the country's top trainer. they were impressed with her drive and said she can compete. first time ever to see the equipment they use for the dogs to bite on, and she bit it with authority the first time they tried it on her.

This dog is breed very hard defense. You just need to make sure her obedience is 100%.
She will bite for real and bite strangers, no problem as she gets older. You need 100% control.
Muzzle training is a good idea, she is not barking from any kind of fear it is confidence all the way.

You bought a working dog with a strong, aggressive pedigree. You can work on her barking, and try to get her used to strangers one at a time (carry around delicious treats). It will be hard work, and she may always be uncomfortable with strangers. Or you could return her to the breeder or sell her to someone who would appreciate her.

This is the type of dog that I like. If she were mine I would tone down her barking through OB. That defensive side of hers will always naturally be there. But since you are concerned or the barking gets on you nerves tone the behavior down a little. And like someone else said put OB on her and lots of it.

that's what i'm planning to do. next weekend. i'll bring her to the trainer and will leave her there for 2 months, hopefully, after two months, she'll be fully trained in basic obedience. i will just visit her 2-3x per week. after the two month basic obedience training, she will start her mondio ring training

What happened to telling a dog to be quiet? ......just sayin.
I never can get any of my dogs to bark angrily at strangers......sigh. They only bark angrily at me when it is dinner time.

just want to mention some things. i'm very much happy with my dog Casey. i dont think that her behavior stems from her upbringing rather i think its in her blood. her temperament is very suitable for what i intended her to be in, that is sports and protection. she's an only child and was raised inside the house when she was a little puppy and when she was 8 weeks old, she was raised by my cousin until she was ready to be shipped to the Philippines. right now, she's into basic obedience course and i see improvements in her behaviour. her trainer has only words of praise for her and says that among the dogs that he is training right now, she stands out and has the most potential to be a good sport dog. given all the facts above, i think its all up to me on how i would want her to turn out.. thanks for all your advices on how to handle her
