You need to stop watching those vids and actually do something positive, drama is not good

"You need to stop watching those vids and actually do something positive, drama is not good"

So,all you folks..... by watching a short, unclear video.... can determine exactly what has, and is transpiring?  Or were you Actually there?

While it may happen in extremely rare cases....the chances of a Law Abiding person(s) being arrested or having their dog shot by the police is Pie in the Sky Drama.

Have any of you people making ridiculous comments (read your own post sometimes) ever been in any type of Law Enforcement incident?  Let alone a potentially or all out violent one?

I didn't think so!

Step away from your I-phones and keyboards, take your dog for nice long walk. I'm sure the dog will appreciate your spending time with them instead of on the I-phone/computer commenting on issues that you truly have no experience with and most likely never will.

Hi Hire dog, I invite you to see those videos and do some thing positive. Because I couldnt sleep well at night if I know some one could kneel me on the round and kill my dogs. I am talking seriously and respectfully not to compete with you, I m just taking advantage of the discussion of this topic to give my opinion.

To Hired Dog,

From your comments you must be in LE.

I have been a law abiding person all my life (65YO not that it matters) but I am very alarmed at how militarized LE has become in the past few years. For several years I had breakfast every morning with a bunch of local LE and they were a fine group and I became good friends with them.

I don't understand the heavy handed tactics, shooting dogs; some of which are not threatening in demeanor, and shooting people to death when they could easily have tazed them.

I also do not understand all the heavy duty SWAT equipment where they go in looking like paramilitary.

I took training for my CCW from 2 very young roided up looking, shaved head officers who were very intimidating to an older female like me who questioned some of their opinions.

If officers are so scared out there that they feel the need to shoot to kill, whether a dog or a human being, they need to go get a job sitting behind a desk.

GSDlady, please read pirate lair post again and have a great night.

Mentay, get some sleep, somewhere out there are cops risking their lives to protect yours.

Hired Dog, you have a great night, too.

Pirates Lair, my town is so small we don't even have a police force and the SO is 25 miles away so we rely on ourselves.

It is obvious neither one of you has any comments on why America has turned into a nation where people are injured or killed in no knock home invasions. And, their animals are killed and possessions damaged.  Oh, to make it even better some times they hit the wrong address!!!

Not everyone out there is a bad guy deserving of having their face bashed in when they are thrown to the ground and a knee with full weight of a man on their spine.

Neither is every dog acting in aggression.

Serve and Protect does not mean acting like Jack Booted Thugs. There is a time to be a bad a** and there is a time to be a human being.

Lori- if you do in fact live in America (not Mayberry, or Leave it to Beavers town) then you would understand!

I did live their once, then I moved back to Canada, it is starting to get just as crazy here as it is wherever you are.

Sleep well Lori......the Sheepdogs are awake and watching their herd.

Pirates Lair:

I do live in the good old US of A in a 500 population town.

I am not sure  what you are referring to  "the Sheepdogs are awake and watching their herd"  but I am not one of the sheeple who is unaware of what is going down.

There is a drug dealer about 2.5 blocks from my house.  I am told the LE's have been there but are scared of the big mean GSD in the front yard that is tied on a log chain.

BTW, if you are a resident of Canada, how sure are you that you know what is happening in the USA?

I am appalled at some of the things that happen in this country. People's dogs being shot in front of them, people being shot 6 times in the back, people taken out of jurisdiction for  forced anal penetration, enemas and finally a forced colonoscopy to find drugs based on a guy "clenching" his butt cheeks when he was pulled over. Some Probable Cause! Oh, that guy got a lot of money out of that town and the cops should have lost their jobs. Last I heard he was still going after the hospital and medical "professionals".

There has to be a happy medium somewhere between Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry and the trigger happy Jack Booted Thugs of today.

Oh, since I am an old law abiding female, I don't have any of them coming to my door but if I did, they better identify themselves and not bust down my door or murder my dogs.

So much could be prevented with a little common sense! Is a carjacker going to be travelling with his wife, 2 dogs, a 17 year old son, and a whole bunch of luggage from a vacation? And who was the dickhead who decided 'wallet left on top of car' translated into 'carjacking'?

If the family was concerned about their dogs, would it have been too much to expect the officers to secure them? Maybe put leashes on them, and put them in the cruiser? Not all cops are so scared of dogs that they wouldn't be able to do this, if the dogs were reasonably well behaved. Heck, I found a stray GSD in the basement of my apartment building one night, and when I asked some policemen if they knew how to find the Toronto Humane Society, they offered to take the dog there themselves, in their cruiser!   Omg Smile  (Must have been a slow shift!)

No, I don't live in Mayberry. Last year, a Toronto cop gunned down a young man armed with a kitchen knife. He was standing in the doorewy of a streetcar, cussing the cop out, but not really looking terribly threatening. He'd allowed the passengers to get off the car, and had not tried to take a hostage. No one was in any immediate danger. The officer was on the sidewalk, a good distance away, and a number of other officers were present, including 2 bicycle patrolmen, who are trained to use their bikes in a takedown. The constable made no effort to defuse the situation by talking to the young man, just ordered him to drop the knife. When he didn't obey the officer shot him 8 times.

The case is still under investigation, and i have a feeling the constable is going to be hunting for another job when it's all over.
