Decoy, I sent you a PM about a dog I rescued from W.V. Please click on 'Site' in the menu bar to read it. It should show up there as the number 1 (or whatever number of PM's you've been sent.)

There really is no rhyme or reason in my experience for when or where dogs are or aren't allowed in HD or Lowes. I am in Northern VA and take my dogs in all the time and see a lot of dogs in there - well behaved labs and cattle dogs, yippy things in carts, puppies in arms. Occasionally I get a few stares but that's it. The only time I was told I couldn't have my Shepherd in HD was in rural PA, a greeter very nastily said dogs weren't allowed. I said I wasn't leaving my dog in the 100 deg. car and walked in and said if there was a problem to have the manager come over and I would explain the situation. Well the manager ended up saying how he loved GSDs and I was welcome any time in the store with my dogs LOL.

I was at Lowes last weekend and they had posted signs on all doors "no dogs allowed"....I know i did not see those signs last month, and signs are brand new looking....SUCKS!

Here is Stella Mary von Ryanhaus visiting Home Depot back in February 2013< I go everywhere I can with my dogs until I get kicked out, which rarely happens!!
Usually people are really happy to see the dog, and the employees love to take a break and say hi

I was in Lowes this weekend with one of my males. We were in there a good two hours. No issues until I was leaving and a working said - don't you know dogs aren't allowed. I said there are no signs as well as nobody inside said anything until you. She said well dogs are allowed but they have to be in a buggy - I laughed and said "right" - he won't fit - I also ask her if she was the Lowes police. She said no and I quickly told her she was discriminating against my dog if only little dogs where allowed.
I later called the manager and ask if dogs were allowed and he said yes. So I think it is based on the store management.
I honestly was waiting on somebody to say something to me because my boy was carrying around a piece of copper that he had gotten from the plumbing section.............lol

Yogie, it makes me wander if the woman that told me I can't have my dog there was the only one who claimed that. I mean literally for years I have taken dogs in there, and even management had no problem with it. A new woman is there and she tells me that I can't? She was at the desk where you get paint. I'm going to call one of my clients (unless she brings her dogs in today at work) and let her know about what happened at Lowes, because she takes her dogs in there at times.

Grandeur always goes with me to Lowes, Tractor Supply, Feed Mills and Home Depot - ever since a pup. She's 6 years old now. And I'm picking up orders every other day at one of these places. @ the TSC and Feed Mill I don't even use a leash - she just walks in with me stays by my side the whole time.
My dog is a huge snob though, doesn't care about anyone and is like velcro on my left leg. I think the looks of her scare people because not once has anyone ever wanted to pet my dog in these stores. Except the owners of the Feed Mill and TSC.
Noone ever said anything to me about no dogs allowed. lol
