Dawulf, every 7 months isn't a negative, from a reproductive specialist's point of view [not saying I am one--rather, am repeating what I've been told by several such specialists]; every heat cycle a bitch experiences leaves scarring on the uterus, and decreases her fertility. The dog breeds that are still considered to be "primative", genetically, tend to only cycle once per year, too--as do wild canids [or even less, depending on food supply, pack structure, etc.]. So no worries about that with Qira.

it could be perfectly within the range of 'normal' for the '3' to be a typo for
5, 6 or 7 months.
As someone has pointed out on another thred, if any bitch does cycle
every three months, she has probably less chance of getting and staying
in whelp, because in between oestrus the uterine lining etc don't have a
'normal' length of time to develop.

Hexe, I didn't know that, thanks. It is fine by me that she is a bit longer than usual... her heats aren't fun for anyone!
