It's not just PDB,   You can't reuse a name in any registry.

Which is why breeders find it convenient to have A, B, C etc.. litters.  So when (and if) you reach a circle in the alphabet, it's easy to find new names that won't break the registry regulations for uniqueness.   Some slack is allowed for older pedigree's and they are usually noted as "Max (1930)".     Modern pedigree papers (1970+) probably won't have  a "Max". Hence the reason to only allow single use of a name.

I.e. It's either 1) a very old pedigree and pedigree researchers expect them to be outside the norm, 2) someone is writing the pet name and not the pedigree name,  3) Dog isn't registered by a legal entity and the person entering the information has a bogus (or pirate org) pedigree.

There is a reason why dogs are named after their kennels.

Someone stole the picture of my dog's sire and used it as their dog on here, Cuba V.
I just changed the picture to a blank "not the right dog" picture and made a comment..... eventually that rather scummy (IMO) person put up what appears to be a correct picture. (although the owner had to also email them I was told).

I don't think this was malicious at all. Look at the date the dog was registered and the date of the first change, they are the same so unless this person changed it the day it was entered, you have probably changed someone elses pedigree.

Do you have a bookmark to your storm or are you going off a search only? Did you register this dog in 2007 before it was even born in 2010?

GSD Admin, then someone STOLE my dog's picture and erased MY pedigree.

I do understand there can be only one, but there was no problem until here recently when my dog's pedigree
went MIA and the picture used was not of the correct dog.

How could that be? This dog was registered in 2007?  This is not your pedigree unless you made it before your dog was born.  I am trying to find your dog, we have been going through duplicate pedigrees and deleting them so maybe your storm was accidentally deleted but I need to do some research to find out. The person doing this has extensive knowledge of pedigrees and the system so I don't think they made a mistake put let me do the research and try and find out.

Honestly, I think you uploaded the picture onto someone elses pedigree by mistake. The picture says you uploaded it, can recall when this was done?

Do you have a bookmark from your storm?

No, I never bookmarked my storm. I uploaded the picture to my own pedigree, that showed K9 Baks as the father. It came up
as K9 Deuces sister before this started. That is the only reason why I found something amiss... it had ALWAYS shown up that
he had one sibling, which he does. When I was just looking through last night, his sibling (Storm) was gone, poof, so I tried
to re-register her, and this other pedigree with her picture popped up. My storm's pedigree was here up until a month or so ago,
give or take, because I don't routinely check my pedigrees, with her her sire, K9 Baks and Dam, Haley.

Thank you for trying to figure this mess out.

The problem we are having is as you know 2 storms can't be registered so we are having a hard time understanding how a storm was registered in 2007 and then one sometime after 2010.

I have sent Oli as email asking for some information.

The pic that is uploaded now to this pedigree, when did you upload it?

I believe I uploaded the photo in 2011, last year sometime.

I understand the problem, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that her pedigree was correct when I added
it. Could it have been deleted as a duplicate pedigree? I'm sure, and not blaming anyone. If you wanted to undo
the changes I made, along with taking down my photo, I will re-register her as K9 Storm, if that has not already
been taken.

No, we just checked and we find no record of it being a deleted dup. The thing is the system would not even accept it because another Storm was registered first. I will get back with you on the rest, we are still trying to figure out what happened.
