I've also been thinking of importing a pup myself so was very glad to see this thread. I've seen Gradlyns mentioned a couple of times. Are there any other breeders anyone would recommend ( I will look at Gradlyns as well)? Also, many of the breeders websites that I've tried to look at by linking from here on the database don't have an English translation. Any advice on contacting these breeders on should I just look for those with the English translation?

I use Gradlyn exclusively, have for 18 years, dozens of dogs/puppies, never a problem. I do ask the person exporting the dog to me to deliver the dog to Gradlyn's hangar in Frankfurt airport cargo area to save me the cost of having them "picked up." Occasionally I have to spring for a few extra bucks for the breeder's time and trouble, but only if they are driving a very long way, have to take off work, etc.

Bigswill...Gradlyns is a shipping company, not a GSD breeder.  People should also check out www.petair.de, sometimes their rates are better.

If you can get the breeder to make the shipping arrangements and deliver the pup to the airport, it can save you a bundle.

My mistake, Veronica. That's what I get for thinking. I appreciate the heads up.

No problemo.  We all start somewhere.  :-) Veronica
