Kelly M Shaw

by Kelly M Shaw on 15 December 2008 - 22:12

My rescue male that is not a GSD still acts like he is intact and still tries to go after my other male. I had him neutered when he was around 1 1/2-2 years old, and I've had him for 4 years now. Nothing has changed for him at all. In my case neutering my rescue didn't change him or calm him down at all. Hope it's different for Chaos.

I neutored my first LC male at 2 years of age because of dog aggression. With him, it did take the "wind out of his sails". But spaying females, I haven't seen one bit of difference and some were worse after . Maybe it just depends how the changing hormones from the "fix" react on the given dog. I have read there are alot of adverse affects from spay/neutor, its why I suggested not to unless necessary. I don't think I have seen the link above, I'll have to check it out.

Wow, thanks for that information guys.  I'll check out the link.  I've been told so many different things from many people.  I think I better study up more before we end it.  Thanks again.

Thanks for all of the lovely private messages that I have received about Chaos.  I'm looking forward to his retirement and all of the fun things we'll continue to do together : - }
