I have to agree with 2 moons and 1doggie2. Screw the legalities and go take the dog back if you can find the house.

That's nice in fantasy land and I admit I did do that myself once a long time ago, but c'mon, that's asking for trouble.  Entering another person's propery without their permission is asking for real trouble, and OP has no idea if the people with her dog and nice folks or really bad news, people who will get really, really ugly when OP trespasses into their house or on their property, maybe taking a shot at her and saying it's in self defense at this intruder and the law will side with them.

I knew the dog was tattoo'd on her belly but didn't know the actual tattoo number or have the paperwork in my hands to prove it when I was on the phone. Plus she could just simply say "no..no tattoo" now I have the authorities involved and they will varify the tattoo. I mentioned the tattoo to the lady but she was only concerned about a microchip. I have the dogs OFA certificate with the tattoo information and the AKC papers showing the dog is in my name....

What a minute, your waiting until Saturday, is not that the day she leaves, is she buyig time to leave the state? There is no flippen way I would be waiting I would have attorney serve her to block her from leaving the state. The authorities are going to tell you, sorry , she has left our jusidicition. I am sorrry, however, by being the nice guy, if this is your dog, you are going to lose him. this is so simple, I do not understand why the waiting period, all has to be done is go with LEO and verify the tatt. I am sorry but I am with 4pack, scr_w her and her saturday deals.

by the way anyone here with experiance on tat on the belly, will it still show up correctly with out guess work?

i AM GETTING FURIOUS BY THE MINUTE, You have a dog stolen, she calls you and wants all the feel good, fuzzy info on your dog, and when you want it back, she calls in a harresment  complaint, and your going to wait until Saturday, so she can leave the state with YOUR dog. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? i HAVE A GUESTION FOR YOU, if you were attacked would you excpect your dog to defend you with everything he had? If so, then why are you not doing the same for him?

I am sorry that lady has shown her colors, YOU BETTER READ THE TEA LEAVES. You better be gald your not my husband, I would be pointing a shot gun at you right about now. There is a reason for tthe saying "nice guys finnish last", "a sucker is born everyday" I am not sorry if I have offended you and it gets you off your duff. If I have the facts wrong, or if you have not posted story correclty, or if I missed something when reading this and have the facts wrong, then I apoligise..However, if that dog is your's and it crosses state lines, wave good bye to your BEST FREIND who depends on you.

Take all documents with you and dont let go of them . Make copies for the pd..Make sure you get a copy of your police calls on her end. Take a picture of the dog immediately upon arrival...take a pic of the tatoo in the presence of the police department..Thank them and get receipts for the handing over of the dog...get copies of their log ins and your calls made to them

Get there as fast as you can...NOW...  Thank goodness , this one turned out well.
