You guys are really ignorant. This is the look that the highline breeders in Germany are striving for. The look comes from really old lines in the Black Forest region and a small area near the Belgian border. They bred these dogs to have a bear look to frighten away predators from the sheep herds. They call it “Wenig Teddy Bär”. You guys don’t know about it because they are very rare and the Germans are keeping them in the country. Expect to see them at the big German shows this year.

Phew, call me ignorant, but that is AWFUL. They must have to look scary because they can't CHASE preditors.

Well that is pathetic Christopher.  Why the need to screw around with the GSD all the time?

I'd like to see a dog built that way be of any use at all.  That dog couldn't chase his tail.

I hope they don't plan to show them in the GSD shows.  Keep them in Germany.

rounded forehead and short muzzle like a rotti, and where did the rest of his body go?  not my cup of tea, but then again this guy will probably go on to be sold as a TOP show prospect based on color alone.  what a shame this is what the german showlines are moving towards.  I've seen WAAY too many being adv. on this site with this look.

I hope he is joking.    His story sounds bizarre enough to be real.

Another vote for "bad photoshop"

The stop of the dog's forehead is almost indented between the eyes like a boxer. Too steep as well. Looking at other areas of the photos, you can see where photochopping has been applied.

Of course is a joke. But the reason it sounds plausible to you is because the GSD breed is full of similar stories that many people believe.

Checks out a theory called The Big Lie, then think about how this theory might pertain to the GSD.
