the problem with america today ;

Cultural Marxism destroying Western Culture

Cultural Marxism, dubbed “the greatest cancer in the Western world”, is the ideological driver behind political correctness. It is the destructive criticism and undermining of all institutions of Western civilization and the traditional values underpinning it.

Cultural Marxism was formulated as a way to subvert Western nations and civilization using methods other than direct political action. Cultural Marxism is largely a synthesis of Marx and Freud. It is Marxism as applied in the cultural sphere and the analysis and control of the media, art, theatre, film and other cultural institutions in society, often with an emphasis on class, race and gender.

Uh, the Constitution is actually the driver of "political correctness". Do you have a different definition or do you not understand what it actually is?

Ending slavery, women's suffrage and an all around expansion and application of human rights are examples of cultural Marxism, according to the above definition.

But hey, if women want to go back to the tradition of being second class citizens I guess that's their right.

Thumbs Up Thanks for pointing that out , Noitsyou !  Here is one woman who would not wish to return to that double standard, even if I wasn't a (real) Marxist.  Only the 'rabid right' could see this "cultural marxism" as a wholly bad thing, much less accuse Obama and Clinton of being "Marxists" because of it !

The irony is that the right (and the left as well) criticizes the Islamic world for not evolving culturally and sticking to their traditions.

Trump just attacked the Muslim parents whose son was killed while serving in Iraq. The father gave a speech at the DNC while the mother stood by him. Trump commented on how the mother, since she is a Muslim woman, was probably not allowed to speak. The funny thing is that whether or not that was true, it wasn't, it reflects a value system that is close to his.

In May 1991, at a commencement ceremony for a graduating class of the University of Michigan, then U.S. President George H.W. Bush used the term in his speech: "The notion of political correctness has ignited controversy across the land. And although the movement arises from the laudable desire to sweep away the debris of racism and sexism and hatred, it replaces old prejudice with new ones. It declares certain topics off-limits, certain expression off-limits, even certain gestures off-limits."[46][47][48]

Pretty sad GWB is the one you find to quote, laughable really.

by beetree on 01 August 2016 - 00:08

Nothing sad about truth. That the author shows your bias is not my problem.

Both sides have their own versions of political correctness.

An easy argument could be made that the right is just as guilty as the left when it comes to cultural Marxism. It is no more a defender of Western Culture than the left. In fact, it is probably worse than the left on that issue. The right simply uses Western culture as a synonym for capitalism. They don't care about Shakespeare, Michelangelo or Plato. The right doesn't care about science. I would bet that Obama and Hillary know more about Western culture than Trump.

Although I am curious as to what these traditional Western values are.
