Hans there is no doubt that rich southern democrats were racist 150 years ago. But we aren't talking about the past. Because Trump didn't live that long ago. And yes the republican party is more racist and discriminatory in the present form. You say you don't like discrimination - then how do you feel about gays? Are you 100% behind their cause to live life without being discriminated against? What about a woman's right to abortion? You might be libertarian but your leanings are more republican. I did a search of recent racist comments from the GOP and found dozens of sites listing dozens of examples, since I didn't live 125 to 175 years ago, I have to go off what is happening today and in my lifetime. Because if we go further back than your 150 years - it is apparent that christian white people slaughtered native Americans. And again those same white rich democratic southerns are now the white southern republicans, you can't deny this as all it takes is a quick look at the red states and the blue states. I wonder how Marcus feels about you saying you are against discrimination. SMH.

This is a problem coming from someone who speaks of philosophy and tries to come across as a rational person. It is an example of irrationality. By using this "reasoning" you should also feel comforted by Sanders as he was not well-liked by either party's establishment.
And a libertarian who supports Trump is not a libertarian, especially when there is a libertarian on the ballot. In fact, a true libertarian would not find any comfort in Trump but would fear him.

‘An Open Letter to Donald Trump:
Mr. Trump,
I try my hardest not to be political. I’ve refused to interview several of your fellow candidates. I didn’t want to risk any personal goodwill by appearing to take sides in a contentious election. I thought: “Maybe the timing is not right.” But I realize now that there is no correct time to oppose violence and prejudice. The time is always now. Because along with millions of Americans, I’ve come to realize that opposing you is no longer a political decision. It is a moral one.
I’ve watched you retweet racist images. I’ve watched you retweet racist lies. I’ve watched you take 48 hours to disavow white supremacy. I’ve watched you joyfully encourage violence, and promise to “pay the legal fees” of those who commit violence on your behalf. I’ve watched you advocate the use of torture and the murder of terrorists’ families. I’ve watched you gleefully tell stories of executing Muslims with bullets dipped in pig blood. I’ve watched you compare refugees to “snakes,” and claim that “Islam hates us.”
I am a journalist, Mr. Trump. And over the last two years I have conducted extensive interviews with hundreds of Muslims, chosen at random, on the streets of Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan. I’ve also interviewed hundreds of Syrian and Iraqi refugees across seven different countries. And I can confirm— the hateful one is you.
Those of us who have been paying attention will not allow you to rebrand yourself. You are not a “unifier.” You are not “presidential.” You are not a “victim” of the very anger that you’ve joyfully enflamed for months. You are a man who has encouraged prejudice and violence in the pursuit of personal power. And though your words will no doubt change over the next few months, you will always remain who you are.
Sincerely,
Brandon Stanton’

here you go on racist comments from democrats not 150 years old :
1) "(Obama’s) a nice person, he’s very articulate this is what’s been used against him, but he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic." -- Dan Rather
2) “White folks was in the caves while we [blacks] was building empires … We built pyramids before Donald Trump ever knew what architecture was … we taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it." -- Al Sharpton
3) "‘Hymies.’ ‘Hymietown.’" -- Jesse Jackson’s description of New York City while on the 1984 presidential campaign trail.
4) "A few years ago, (Barack Obama) would have been getting us coffee." -- Bill Clinton to Ted Kennedy
5) "The Israeli puppeteer travels to Washington and meets with the puppet in the White House. He then goes down Pennsylvania Avenue and meets with the puppets in Congress. The Israeli leader then 'brings back millions of dollars' in aid to Israel." -- Ralph Nader
6) "(Harry Reid) was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." -- Harry Reid's comments reported by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann
7) "I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia [Sen. Robert C. Byrd, a former Ku Klux Klan recruiter] that he would have been a great senator at any moment. . . . He would have been right during the great conflict of civil war in this nation." -- Former Democratic Senator Christopher Dodd (D.,Conn.)
8)Vice President Joe Biden talking the entrepreneurial immigrants that enter our country and run 7-11’s and Dunkin Donuts:
“You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking!”
9)That time President Obama caught his grandmother being a “typical white person,” whatever that means…
“The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, you know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred in our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that’s just the nature of race in our society.”
10) last but not least YOUR vice president Joe Biden famously said about Barack Obama
“I mean you’ve got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking guy.”
Now imagine a Republican saying any of those… I bet that would be a heck of a lot of fun for the media now wouldn’t it?

Yes democrat are racist too .
Racists come in all political stripes. No party owns racism. But I posted the history for Americans to revisit the history of the Democrat party. I am sick and tired when Liberals end every losing discussion on anything by calling the opponent racist. At that moment I know that I have won the discussion.
Democrat racism? Democrats confident thatt they will suffer no condemnation by the liberal media routinely engage in rank racism toward black Republicans, calling them “sellouts”, “House Negroes” and worse.
This racist name calling is the despicable tactic Democrats use to demean black Americans who do not follow the liberal agenda line and keep blacks herded on the Democratic Party’s economic plantation.
On drop of the hat liberal journalists are ready to accuse republicans of racism for any criticism of Obama’s failed economic and foreign policies yet they are mute in the face of real racism exhibited by Democrats against black republicans.
What party supported slavery? Jim Crow Laws? Democrats. What party wanted it so blacks didn't have rights? Democrats. What party supported the KKK? Democrats. Who was the Democrats military? The KKK. Which Democratic senator said that Obama would have a chance since he was a "light skinned negro" Democratic senate majority leader Harry Reid. What Democratic Senator used to be in the KKK? Robert Byrd. What year did the first black democrat get accepted into the senate? 1999. Which Vice president said to black a crowd "they're going to put you all back in chains if you vote republican" Joe Biden. Which congressman called whites "Crackers" Charlie Ranger. Again, which vice president nominee said "Barack Obama was the first clean cut, mainstream African American and it should be a story man."? Joe Biden. Which Democratic president said this when he signed the civil rights bill: "This will keep nig...s voting Democratic for 200 years."? Lyndon B. Johnson.
yes racists came in all political stripes. That is all I am saying.

And what about affirmative action? Affirmative action is levleing the play field it is giiven advantage to blacks and other minorities. Democrat racism is based on Affirmative Action, or more precisely, on the premise that African Americans are "incapable" of competing on a level playing field. In other words, Affirmative Action is based on the same notion of White Supremacy that Democrats have always held.
