yes, i like Linda , she is a very nice , but large girl, she is a very good in movement too, sweet girl, she was 6 years in the picture and is going to be 9 this year , still in great health. she comes from very long living bloodlines. Thanks Ibrahim for the nice compliments.

Trixx, Linda is super gorgeous, exceptionally well built, her front and rear assembly is certainly much more correct than the dog I posted.

As to the dog I posted, I just think it's fascinating how straight the line is from withers to tail. Many dogs, or wolves, with straight backs still often have dips behind the withers, the croup angles down to some degree (not saying this is incorrect!) sometimes the butt is higher than the withers or the back has some curvature or sway in it. Would be interesting to see if the dog could maintain it when stacked. I agree that it's fur helps contribute to the topline appearance

It's what a straight topline should be - straight. I have lost count of the times that a curved, rounded or roached topline is described as straight. In the first dog I am not fond of the steep croup though. Some of the best and straightest toplines I have seen are from kennel von der Schiffslache. Here's one (hope it's OK to post it?) I love the croups too.

Edith, does your female have Ursus close up in her pedigree? She's got that 'look' about her!
She reminds me a lot of my own female, who is an Ursus grand-daughter.

My dogs both have very straight toplines. Ranger (the dark blanket-back) was a rescue, so I had no choice about the topline, but Star was deliberately chosen for her nice, straight back and excellent bone.

What looks to be a dip in Ranger's back is actually a puff of fur.

Sunsilver, this is their mother in whelp. She is an Ando vom Altenberger Land daughter. Their father is a Yasko son. She is the sweetest girl, no issues whelping, exceptional mother. I have been very happy with this combination. She has OFA excellent hips and normal elbows, eyes certified. Certified therapy dog.
