What T&F events are you most interested in ? Personally , I like the sprints and relays. Kinda bummed that my girl Allyson Felix won't be in the 200M , but am looking forward to her in the 400M. What a beautiful runner. Nice to see a woman with the stride of an Evelyn Ashford, beautiful form that seems increasingly rare these days !

I didn't know what to say when my oldest son kept repeating the name of one of the silver medal winners of the men's synchronized platform divers. Each time he'd say it, a bit more incredulity crept into his tone of voice. His friends start smirking. One girl, flat out giggled.
Finally, I say, "What is the matter!" Mom, it seems, is just a bit slow these days.
He practically howls at me, "Mom! Come on! His parents MUST Have done that ON PURPOSE!"
"Did what?", I ask.
He repeats for me slowly, "Mom! They named him... STEELE JOHNSON!
It dawns on me, then, "oh... Ohh. oooooo! "
😜😆☺️

They need to erase all of the women's records that were set on the 80s because they were all using large amounts of drugs. Felix will never break the 400 or 200 record because of that.

Lochte was a fizz...
The USA women's gymnastics All-Around just showed how superior their skills really are compared to the rest of the teams. There really was no competition for Simone Biles, watching her floor routine was like watching cute dynamite! And it was a beautiful moment for Aly Raisman with her Silver medal win, redemption. She did an awesome performance, too!
Phelps, swims again tonight! Going for Gold 23. Is that incredible of what?
Track prelims starting... I like them too, but swimming, I just love to watch!

I almost forgot to mention one of the most poignant moments of swimming history, happened last night! Simone Manuel became the first African-American to win a Gold medal in an individual swimming event. She tied Canada for an Olympic record in the 100 meter freestyle. The look on her face when she'd realized what she had done was priceless!
We’re not an unusual African American family. The statistics are startling: 68.9 percent of African American children had “low or no swim ability,” according to a 2010 study commissioned by USA Swimming and conducted by the University of Memphis. For Hispanic children, the number was 57.9 percent. For Caucasians, it was 41.8 percent.
And despite all the “black people can’t swim” jokes that comedians use to bring down the house, these are dangerous facts. Black children ages 5 to 19 die from drowning at a rate 5½ times higher than white children, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
So to understand the significance of what Simone Manuel did Thursday night, when she became the first African American woman to win an individual swimming medal in an Olympics, you have to know the current against which she swam. She hasn’t always liked being singled out as a “black swimmer” because she thinks it has a diminishing connotation, but she realizes how powerful a symbol she now is.
