To me, sex, age, and the perceived level of physical fitness are not what is important for a good helper. A good helper is a good helper whether it is a skinny young female or a fat old guy about to have a heart attack.
And like I said, Anne Kent has a ton of videos of herself doing helper work, and they are training dogs too not just fancy trial work. She is well know and well respected.

When i mentioned Fitness i was not just thinking of Girls doing the Helper work, I was talking about Males as well.
It is no use thinking anyone can just put on the gear and start doing Helper work. That will never happen, although i have only ever had one go, To old now i am afraid for that work But you must be fit to stand the work which looks so easy but is certainly not Helpers on here will back me up on that i am sure,
Plus as i said a bad helper can ruin a Dog more so a young Dog learning, A good Helper can bring a Young Dog along in leaps and bounds
I know two young male Helpers over here early last year, Both failed the test and exams Physically. The Judge said they were not strong enough although they looked fit enough at the time,
However one of those Guys did a lot of Running and some Gym work to toughen himself up. He recently passed his Exams and Physically was okay he is now a certified Helper in Belgium
That is what i am talking about, But Yes' Girls can do the same but not just put on a suit and be a helper NO' NO one can do that.

There is a huge difference between being a trial helper and a training helper! Anne is no joke...she can also explain what she is doing...another great attribute. PLUS, she KNOWS German Shepherds. Anyone working with her is blessed. I've learned that dogs need to see all kinds of helpers....good and bad....just like training helpers need to see all kinds of dogs:-) The problem is when someone becomes a trial helper....they think they are a training helper....NOT!

Vikram...I do not get it. Are they flukes because they are women? Perhaps you need to take a look at some of the women that have opened the doors for thousands to walk through.
Opha Mae Johnson - the first female Marine
Valentina Tereshkova - the first female in space.
I could go on and on. The point is that are these women flukes just because they are the first to do it.
And just in case if I am wrong and they are not the first to do it...it does not matter. Someone paved the road and that does not make em flukes.
Vikram my wife would call you a sexist pig...and I would have to agree.
