I was recently told by a respectable and trustworthy breeder that Canisa Von Bismack kennels produces very great old style working GSD; the breeder is in Iasi , Romania, has been in the biz. about 30 plus years and is considered to be the Romania equivalent of Jiri Novotny. Any one know of this kennel or breedings?

Mithuna,
I would advise against importing a dog since you are still new to the breed and training. I think it would be beneficial to see the dog in person, maybe parents too if they were on site.
Either way, good luck!

90 paddocks ( kennels ? )... !!! Sounds like Walmart for dogs to me.
The counter is faked in my opinion.

At least I believe in dogs living a normal life, I don´t even question the quality of their dogs at this point, I just don´t like this kind of dog supermarket.
There are others out there, doing the same.

The breeder in the USA who is going to import dogs from him is a trust worthy person. She places most of her breedings in LE and takes back dogs that do not meet the buyer expectation.

Some very nice dogs from that kennel but a lot of the dogs on his site don't have very good conformation (not from a showing perspective) but for work. I've seen a lot of dogs fall backwards during agitation and the reflex for getting back up isn't quick. Temperament wise some really nice dogs from him.
. I'll advise u visit his YouTube page and see for urself. I personally like a robust .muscular dog that can recover quickly from falls. If u are in the US you have the luxury of visiting kennels and developing relationships so u can get the cream of the litter. I visited a friend that imported several dogs from the Czech republic and all were shit dogs.
Your chances are better in the US ,period....

One of the best dogs from his kennel. You'd be lucky to import something like this

In this second video u can skip to the 15 second mark, Maybe the line was too short but the dog didn't seem to have good reflex. Again it could be nutrition.

Like others have said, your chances are better with a local breeder. It's rare for breeders to sell their best puppies to non-competitors abroad whom they barely know. All the best in ur search.

I like the dog in the first vid....nice willingness to stay engaged.

The dog in the second vid seem to have a weak hind section.  My own dog loves to work for the opportunity to chase a moving ball, so I get her to do many uphill sprints on soft ground in large park in Queens/Brooklyn area, NY. This  exercise has tightened up her overall structure, and made her quite conditioned with very strong hindquarters.

With good nutrition and exercise regimen , that solid blk in the second vid can probabyl be brought back to good fitness.
