My name is Rob and I would like to help with the proper measures on searching for the right Breeder. Titles look good on paper but if it is not your dog with the titles, this has no bearing on what you should be spending for your new GSD pup. Face it not every litter from titled parents mean the litter will be able to be titled. Always get good creditable references and contact them. If you are able to go see the litter and test them, do so or have an experienced Handler go with you. You want the puppy you want, not the puppy they want to sell you. This is a long commitment so choose the breeder wisely and your pup. Having been a Police K-9 handler for some time and over a thousand hours of training, I too can have a bad judge of people, but can see through them when trying to sell there stock. A breeder is like a car salesman in some ways. The way they present themselves and with the gift to shoot the bull and show pictures and pedigree papers is the key,but you must not be fooled my friend. Even the best of us get fooled! Always check with the breeders vet about the pups health issues if any so you don't get a puppy, bond with him and find out he has a genetic fault. Face it if you love the little guy, who would send him back for a refund. Not me! I am always available to anyone needing help choosing a breeder and doing my own investigations on Breeders (just concluded one). I have contacts throughout the USA that can check on a Breeder for you if need be. Just drop me an email.....remember that a genetic fault is no reason not to love your dog since he does not know it and just wants your devoted attention and affection. I have posted some issues I have but they get deleted very quickly so hope this one stays.

Very well said... Good luck in your battle as well as in your search... There really are some honest breeders out there. It really stinks that you've had a bad experience and now will have many questions before purchasing a dog. But, it can and will happen for you!!! Keep your head up!!!
