I purchased a male dog from Tracy Reid (Reikenhaus German Shepherds) born June 3/2016. The dog was being bought as a breeding male and was advertised with ckc papers. I also paid her more for a breeding male. After picking up the male, 3 months later I contacted her about the papers. She assured me that they were coming and she was just waiting on the stud certificate for the mother from the breeder in Europe. (This was something she did not tell me when I first went to pick the dog up and paid her). Another two months went by and we were in the beginning of December and still no papers. I text her (unhappy as I am and was), and was told not to worry again the papers would be here in time. In our contract made by her I noticed it did not say anything about ckc papers, so she added that I will get the papers within 6 months and then signed it. She then told be I was being rude and that I would see the papers by Jan 30th and not to contact her again. As you all can guess, Jan 30th came and went and still no papers.

I contacted her in the beginning of Febuarary and told her I wanted a refund, I bought a dog with no papers, paid extra to use him as a breeding male and I was garenteed papers in 6 months. She told me again to be patient, papers were on the way. I told her I was contacting ckc. She then accused me of harassment and she was going to contact them. lol. I told her make sure she gives them my full name and phone number. After contacting CKC, I found out she violated the animal pedigree act and was told to contact the regulatory Division. I am in the midst of filling with them.

She at one point told me I knew nothing about importing animals and breeding. As far as I'm concerned, it is people like her that give the breed a bad name. Obviously she needs to take a lesson in importing animals properly and being a responsible breeder that upholds their word!!! Even if the breeder in Europe was at fault for not getting her the propler paperwork,
1. It is up to her to deal with trustworthy people
2. It is her responsibility to sell her advertised CKC papers animals with CKC papers NOT THE BUYER

At this point I am very frustrated, and realize that I am not going to see any papers. Even if I do now, our contract has been violated and as far as I'm concerned the way she has treated me I just don't want anyone else to go through what I have. Also if you scroll down in this forum, you will see she has already tried to take someone else!! I will be glad to inform you when and if I see my papers, but as I stated already, my experience was not worth the hassel!!!

Just a quick update. I went to the CKC today and filed my complaint. They took copies of the contract and said they are deffinantly going to look into it.

When I was texting back and forth with Tracy Reid, she told me she has filed the papers and I should be seeing my papers shortly. That was a month ago. So when I was at CKC, I gave them the dogs number and they looked it up. They informed me they have not received nothing and that Tracy Reid has only registered one dog last year! So here is someone who advertises and sells litters as CKC registered and has only registered one animal? Not to mention the fact that she told me my papers were being processed!!! I have the texts to prove it!!

Regarding the above matter. Please be advised that it was explained to you that we were waiting for the stud certificate from Europe which did indeed arrive by mail to me 2 days ago. It has been forwarded to the CKC to have the litter processed.
It did take longer than we anticipated and for that we appologise. However I can assure you that you will receive registration papers for the puppy you purchased.
As some breeders know, when you import a pregnant female it does take time to obtain all the necessary documents from overseas which allows you to register a litter here in Canada.
If there was an issue obtaining your papers I would be more than happy to offer you a refund as this would only be more than fair.
As this is not the case your paperwork will be forwarded to you as soon as it is completed .

Nice, importing pregnant females, just nice.

by countrygsd on 11 March 2017 - 12:03

To the above comment. When I was at the breeder place initially, I was never informed that she did not receive the proper documents. This breeder has told me numerous times that I will see my papers. In fact in December I was told, no promised, I would see them by the end of January. Then the beginning of Febuary I was told "papers have been sent in to CKC and will be on there way shortly". Excuse me for my not believing now!!!!

Fact of the matter is, not only was a word broken, but a CONTRACT, a deadline set out by this breeder. The lies only add to the character!

I have a Dog from Reikenhaus German Shepherds. I have had nothing but a Very Positive experience. When I placed my deposit I was informed that papers may take a while, since my dogs dam was a pregnant Import (vk4gsd) Importing pregnant females is fine. Like any pregnant woman who chooses to fly on a plane its fine. The dog arrived safely and delivered healthy pups. Through this entire experience (started Nov 2016) Tracey has been 100% transparent about registration papers. Yes I bought a registered dog. Its unfortunate that somewhere along the line she has had to wait for paperwork from over seas. That sort of thing is very much out of her control. Coming online to a public forum to try and publicly humiliate and cause hardship is just so shameful. This breeder has always answered my questions any time of day or night for anything. She replies to my messages in less than an hour 90% of the time. I am so grateful my girl came from such a loving place. When I picked her up the puppies were living in her kitchen in some pretty swanky hand built Large plywood box. It was so clean and fresh that my Puppy didnt have that typical stink most puppies have, she was fresh. Her mother was loose in the house and was the most sweet tempered mother. I fell in Love with Reikenhaus GSD's because they were from Germany where Colours are rich and they are bred with strict standards in mind, UNLIKE anything bred here originally. These Dogs are so Unique that I would buy another in an instant even if I had to wait 2 years for papers! I have owned Purebred GSD's my whole life and this girl is by far the best looking, with the sweetest temperament and the most physically sound. The Quality of the Dogs combined with the expertise Tracey has provided is far beyond anything I have ever experienced in a breeder. So if you must continue to try and discredit her, Im afraid it only makes you look bad. Good always wins! If it was so terrible I suggest you shop else where for your next gsd. A mediocre mind surely only deserves a mediocre dog. Reikenhaus only sells exceptional dogs.

For all you cowards who hide behind a username my name is Tania McCormick, and I am happy to share my experience.

For the record, I am not a friend of Reikenhaus GSD's I am a client. I have seen them in person for all of 45 mins when I picked up my puppy. I live 3.5 hours away from Little Brittain ON.

To the above comment. First off, I'm very happy yo uenjoyed your experience there. That is how it should be. Unlike you, I did not. I was not informed that the papers may take a while by the breeder. I paid extra for a breeding male. I cannot use a unregistered dog. I was lied too over and over saying the papers were already sent to CKC etc. Also, Tracy is running a business, correct. I know if I put in a contract in my business a deadline date and I did not meet that date, there would be consequences and upset people. It is up to her to fulfill the date set out in the contract. Thank you for the great insight that maybe my next dog I should shop somewhere else. I did shop somewhere else. My females papers were here in a month!!!

I am done with this. As I stated before. When and if my papers show I will say so here!

by countrygsd on 10 June 2017 - 23:06

So I am going to update everyone on this issue. It will be short and sweet. I HAVE NOT RECIEVED ANY PAPERS AS OF NOW FROM TRACY REID!!!!!!!! Nor have I had any contact from her. It will be coming up on a year since purchase.  I will continue to update until either papers are sent or i am re paid monies owing for purchasing a unregistered breeding male!!!

countrygsd, I presume that the dog you purchased was a puppy, since your entire complaint is based on the length of time it's taking to get his registration papers. While I agree that a year is a long time to be waiting, when it comes to imported dogs, sometimes it IS the fault on the seller's end, especially when there's a third party [the stud owner] involved as well.

That said, I sure hope you aren't itching for the papers because you're ready to use your one year old dog as a stud already.
