AGAIN, was this dog eating Diamond brand dog food?

by Yeti on 19 March 2006 - 05:03

I lost a cat years ago because he ingested antifreeze...that is not a myth..it kills animals...did anyone else talk to the swifer people to see what the ingrediants are? I have been told things I know for a fact are false due to snopes.com.....are they saying that anitfreeze cant kill animals, or are they saying that swifer mopping fluid can't kill animals? Someone should verify the ingredients themselves...if it says on thier label that it may be harmful to animals..what do you think that means?

This is all bongus, the email was first circulated in 2004. Go to the site listed in soothersmaylive's post. Antifreeze is ethylene glychol and is fatal if ingested by dogs or cats. Even a small amount will kill by destroying the kidneys, not the liver. It has a very sweet taste, most animals like it. Manufactures of Swiffer (and most any other products available to the not-so-bright general public) must issue warnings that cover them in case some moron lets his pet eat a a whole package of Swiffers and then the animal gets sick or dies because of it. Sort of one of those - don't let you baby put this plastic bag over its head or it may suffocate warnings. Almost anything can fall under the umbrella of "may be harmful".
