Stephen, Check out this link: http://www.camelotfarms.com/. Camelot Farms produces the PreMate test and also sell centrifuges. This is a qualitative rather than a quantitative progesterone test. Personally, I don't own a centrifuge. I just let the blood clot in the syringe, remove the clot, and aspirate the serum in one of the pipettes provided. People often send me their bitches with histories of non-conception to be bred to my studs. Using the PreMate test (to time ovulation) and breeding to one my males every day of standing heat (making sure that they are covered before, during, and after ovulation), these bitches invariably conceive and produce healthy litters. Hmm, a home testing kit. Now that is an excellent idea. Thanks SunriseGSD and Louise Penery! Bob-O

Many thanks for all your advise on this subject. Bitch confirmed in whelp and carrying 11 pups to Orbit. Fingers crossed that all goes well from now on.

Glad to hear things went well. I hadn't followed this messagelist very well but see that Louise M. Penery posted the correct link, Thanks. PreMate has been fantastic for us. Hardest part was learning to properly draw blood. I also hated waiting for the plasma to seperate out on it's own. That's why I bought the centrifuge. Must follow directions exactly, don't try shortcuts.
