lol i been good Charlie... getting the dogs ready for the WDA NASS.... in regard to the long coat.. thats just me tho, why spend all the money in showing and all that on a puppy/dog that you cant breed survey anyway???? i had fun with my Spanish bitch, her apto de cria means nothing with the SV but doesnt mean i wont ever get her HGH or breed survey... but along coat is different... ya NEVER can get it.. not even cutting the fur because you can still "tell" you going to NASS Charlie??

Dawnmarie, Why breed a dog that carries the longcoat gene and can produce longcoats? Please do not think im attacking you because im not... It irritates me seeing people getting disguested with people breeding longcoats when their OWN dogs carries the longcoat gene and probably produced some coats... Do you think is ok breeding a dog that produces Faults? SV standard says that Longcoats are A BIG FAULT but SV contuines to give out VA/V status to dogs who CARRIES the genes and produces THOSE Faults.. DDR/Chex-mix, Oh please! you're the one talking the trash. I was not the one that was talking bad about any dog... you just came popped here out of nowhere and started bashing me and my dogs like an idiot. i request pictures of your dogs you soon to ignore my request... I guess your hiding stuffs... I have a feeling that you never step forward to a field... i bet you dont even own a dog... now please SHUT YOUR MOUTH before you act like a fool... I hope Charlie is smart enough not to hang out with trash talkers like you. Now Im waiting for those pictures... dont keep me down :)

In the opinion of the judge, the rating is given. Is Dawnmarie a judge? How can she question the rating of a SV judge? Is one judge more credible than another? Without getting into any trash, I question what Dawnmarie's point is to this topic. Have you been showing a dog that is with much hair and not doing well or is the dog placing in front of your dog got a little more hair? (Last time I looked your dogs had very liitle hair and were P rated.) I would have to ask what is your point Dawnmarie?

All is well Charlie but I found that I must educate myself without being nown. I must be careful because then there will be MOE. I am smiling and learning and better abel to digest the information. Have a good day Charlie, I am well.

Sauerkrout, you seem to have a problem with the possiblility of "long coats" getting ratings in the show ring. Or maybe even in Sch titles? Please give me a way to contact you directly.

I'm not qualified to speak to whether or not one should show or breed a coat. It seemsm to me to be a matter of personal preference and that many of today's dogs and bitches carry the gene. However, having owned a coat I can say with some authority that the grooming is a nightmare and I doubt any shepherd would ever want to bother with keeping a longcoat free of burrs, ice balls in the winter, etc. I have to think that a longcoat is not a survival characteristic for this breed.

We'll be there, Charlie. Looking forward to it.

EVERY dog produces some sort of fault. If they didn't, we'd all have perfect dogs. Are we to stop breeding all the dogs that have produced weak ears, over bites, crypto, unsure characters, etc, even though they do not have any of these faults themselves? No. Most people breed to conform to the standard. I have nothing against long coats and admire the beauty of them, but they are not within standard. That does not mean they are inferior in any way. It just means that they have a major fault in accordance to the standard. Instead of complaining about dogs who produce long coats getting high rating, ask about those that are known not to produce this fault. Can anyone list names of studs that have not been known to produce the long coat?
