PDB Crew,
Wow, this is great, I have wanted to throw this question out there for a long time, just to get the feed back. But since it was a violation of the TOS, I could not.
Since there is so much hype on everything that is going on in the world, " are we living in the last days or coming to an end of an age? Could the Bible be right or the Mayan calender for 2012, what about Nostradamus, did he have it right, ETC., ?
What about the very things we see before our eyes can they mean something or is it just a process of growth and change?
Please respect everyone's views and beliefs.
Respectfully,
MarineMom

Oli,
Thank you . Great contribution and a quality link.
I thought this would be a insightful, stimulating, thoughtful and challenging topic. Maybe not. At the very least maybe some great debate.
Love the changes to PDB. And thank you for giving us the opportunity to have Off Topic threads.

Oli,
Something I forgot to mention. This topic covers many things, ie.,
New World transition
National Identification
World Currency
Historical Facts and Events
Folk lore
Other religions points of views
This is beyond a religious or non religious perspective. I enjoy all the dog information sharing. My brain just goes beyond the dogs or the horses, or even family life. I like to think about the bigger picture and hear the views of others. We can be gentleman or ladies and agree to disagree, that to me is how we grow in all areas of our life. We all can't be right all the time.
Maybe this is not for here. Maybe many just don't want to "go there". I understand.
Kindly

I always wanted to live to see the end of the world, but I have a feeling this isn't it. I don't even think there'll be any appreciable change. I mean, honestly, like the W2K bug, I think much as others like me may hope to witness (and ideally comfortably survive) a megadisaster, I don't think anything will change at all.
I believe 2012 will roll by, and I don't think we'll even really notice.

jc.carrol,
I agree, I believe 2012 will come and go. My personal belief is, a 2012 date is a "folk lore", based/ from the Mayans, Native American, etc.,
Hey, but thank you for the post.

It only makes a difference if you believe you will act differently because you are convinced the world is doomed. Think of the Halle-Bop Comet cult suicides, (I probably botched that spelling). I personally don't think anyone knows when, but I don't see how the end can be avoided. Humans are just too flawed and our ability to manage what we create is really an illusion.

So per Sir Isaac the end is 2060, eh?
That's cool, I'll turn 100 the year before so it'll be time to check out anyway.
Considering the question seriously, the end will come when the sun goes supernova about 5 billion years from now - but I doubt homo sapiens or anything remotely resembling us will be around to see it.

Only the Father in heaven knows when the world will come to an end (Matthew 24:36). So, I never pay any attention to all of those predictions. We just need to live each day as if it is our last.
