Dear list member I feed my dogs twice a day but I want to feed once a day. My dog is 15 months old. what is your opinion and how many times do you feed your dogs a day?

Since I lost a dog to bloat 20 year ago, I've fed all my dogs twice a day.

I fed my dog once a day all her life (since she was 18 month old), and she lived long and healthy life. It was all natural and raw diet though...

I was unduly harsh above.
To comment: I feed dry extrusion with home-made concoction (mixed). The question never arises: they relish it and if I tried to feed again in the morning (I feed in evening), they'd think it was pretty silly and leave it. They do insist on odd dog biscuit and chicken leg/bone during the day - speaking here only about grown ones.

I have fed my dogs twice a day for quite sometime now. I do soak their kibble first, then I add the meat. I feed my dogs about a 30/70 split. They get 30% kibble, and 70% raw. I am scared to death of bloat so that is why I feed 2x's per day.

I feed my dogs once aday. I'm not worried about bloating up because their not kennel dogs so they don't get overly reacted when they see people. I do add water to their kibble to the point of being mushy. I sometimes add Eggs and other goodie stuffs. I give Jake a supplement of Vertex as well.

oh and I forgot to mention that after I feed my dogs I strictly put them to bed ( inside their crates).

twice a day, the morning meal smaller than the evening one and usually raw, and they rest a couple of hours before excercise. The evening sometimes raw, sometimes royal canin. Mine would never refuse a meal in the morning!!!
