You have to be vary careful about a lot of things until at least 10 months, and some things till 14 months !! Also watch weight carefully -- what kind of exercise are you talking about ?? Jogging is out of the question until at least 10 months old - Weave polls are not a good idea until over a year - that's too much twisting for a long dog that's still a puppy, and I have issues with jumping prior to 14 months - gotta give everything a chance to grow up. Unlike my Neufie friends, I don't have problems with puppies climbing stairs at 12 weeks - they need to learn how to do this, as they will soon be too big to carry -- just be careful - going down - as I had one puppy that thought it was cute to skip the last 3 stairs and JUMP -- he was airborn and landed on his shoulder -- lucky he didn't break a leg in the process!! They do crazy things and need to be watched.

What age group are you talking about and what kind of exercise are thinking of?? If you are doing agility, you can certainly teach left/right wrapping on jumps with just the stanchions and no bars, you can teach them to follow you, you can use channel weaves which you slowly move toward the middle so that by the time the dog is old enough to be doing weaves, they are approaching "real life weave poles"... you can use a ladder flat on the ground to teach rear end awareness and a tippy board(piece of square plywood with a ball offset on the back to simulate the tipping motion - this is really fun for puppies!) to teach them to jump and make it slam to the ground..... You can teach targetting for contacts.... Any play you initiate with a puppy becomes exercise because they throw everything they have into it and in about 3 minutes, they are exhausted and there - you have just exercised your puppy! Naptime! Does this help at all??
