The Australasian Working Dog Magazine (AWD) is proud to bring to you this fantastic article on an incredible debate that has continued for many years. We begin our investigation into the local German Shepherd Dog (GSD) scene. With a primary focus on our Australasian region, we examine a worldwide debate that continues to rage between those intent on maintaining the GSD as the Working Dog Icon it has been for almost a century - and those happy to see working ability fade to a distant second level of importance, behind Aesthetic Conformation and a primarily pet focussed temperament. This article will be covered over a number of issues and AWD is interested in reading legitimate and considered submissions from breeders and trainers from around the globe. Please contact us at info@workingdogmagazine.com Other up-coming features include the full coverage of the International Working Dog Breeders Association's (IWDBA) 2005 conference to be held this year in Melbourne, Australia. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, USA, the IWDBA is an association of individuals from a number of international Governments, Non-Government and Academic agencies, the IWDBA boasts many of the worlds top authorities on Working Dog Breeding, Training, Health and Canine Genetics! The 2005 IWDBA Conference is the first of its kind to be held outside of the USA! This is a not to be missed opportunity, with high profile delegates flying in from around the globe to meet with their Australian Counterparts and discuss the intricacies of canine breeding and development, with a specific focus on Working Dog programs! Australasian Working Dog magazine will be delivered to all conference delegates and on display in the conference exhibition area. We will be providing exclusive interviews with some of the high profile delegates in Issue #1 for the event, followed by Full Coverage of the event starting Issue #2!! For more information on the AWD magazine or the IWDBA 2005 conference and an overview of issue #1 (due for distribution in the last week of Jan 05), please visit our website. http://www.workingdogmagazine.com While visiting, Please Add our Website to your Favourites list so you can easily check back with us for updates on this and other items of interest to the Australasian Working Dog community!
