Can anyone tell me what I need to do to register a dog with Akc from the Netherlands??? I know I don't need a Bescheinigung, but Akc says I need to send the paperwork back to the Netherlands??? Thanks for any help.

Is this an adult dog or a puppy?...And what did AKC say the reason was that you needed to send the papers back to the Netherlands?...Also did they say that you didn't need a Bescheninigung?...

He is a Adult dog. My understanding is that they will re-issue the paperwork with my name on it?? Which I don't understand as my name and date purchased was on the back. The Bescheninigung is only for dogs registered with the SV.

I purchased a Dutch registered dog last year in Germany. It should have been registered in Germany, but both owner and the broker - who transferred the dog to her name, then signed it over to me a day or two later, neglected to take that step. All this info was on the back of the papers, including the 'a' stamp. The papers had to be transferred to my name in the Netherlands. A whole new certificate was issued, just like the AKC does for a new owner. The 'a' stamp info went into a black hole with the first registration certificate,so if the 'a' stamp is on your papers, make copies or ask for it back!!!! The Netherlands registry issued new papers in my name, as well as a certificate of ownership which identified the dog with DNA, tatoo and microchip information. This is the paper needed by the AKC. It is the equivilent of a Bescheninigung and this same type of paper is needed from any country to re-register with AKC. Good thing is, that with all the paperwork submitted correctly, the foreign registration was processed in only a couple of weeks!

Hi Tngsd, I registered a Dutch dog that I imported. You need to contact the Raad van Beheer, Kynologische. Here's the address: http://www.kennelclub.nl/ . Click on the little blue arrow on the side of the page. Then you see a menu with icons. Click on the icon of the little envelope. That will give you a form to fill out to email them for help. The Form is in Dutch, but they have people who can communicate in English. All you need to do is to get the address and send your documents to them, and they'll give you documents with your name as the new owner of the dog. Then, AKC will register your dog. Let me know if I can help more. Sincerely, Kerry www.wachtelwiese.com

TNgsd, We bring in dogs from Hungary and receive a Besch. My understanding it is from any FCI organization that it is needed.

Tngsd, I just got done registering my Kliff daughter who was registerd with Netherlands. Are you importing the dog directly? All i had to do was send a copy of the RAAD and Export Pedigree to AKC, which i forgot to do and they called me to tell me :) But perhaps becasue she was registered in Canada after she left Netherlands, maybe that is why I didnt have to contact RAAD. But i sent copy of her CKC papers with transfer of ownership and they called me right away and said they wanted a copy of the RAAD and export pedigree. My name did not have to appear on them. The sellers name who bought her from Netherlands, were on there. You will also have to submit photo of dog head shot and profile of all of dog too. Regards, Dawnmarie
