Hi. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that your boy is so handsome. I owner a relative (distant Uncle) of your boys. He was my heart and passed away 2 years ago. His name was Outlaw Cash Money, he was litter mate brother to Kylie Mae’s Skeeter who is a great great great grandmother of your boy. If you ever choose to breed him please keep me in mind.

VA1 BSZS 1997 Lasso vom Neuen Berg SchH3

Klcabe Lasso also produced great beauty & character, correct structure and movement, strong herding ability. He lived until a healthy 15,5years a trait we desperately need in the breed and passed it on to at least some of his progeny. Nemo was 16.5 when we lost him. Yes Nemo the dwarf. Thank goodness he never read the book - the one that says dwarfs die young. Your post makes it sound as if Nemo's life was a bad thing. As his owner I beg to differ. Please read my post A Very Fine Dog Indeed. https://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/community.read?post=837280-a-very-fine-dog-indeed

Ch. Lyn-Mar Acres M'Lord Batuff ROM

Ambrican:
BIS It. CH, Am CH LYN-MAR ACRES M'LORD BATUFF, ROM
Born: December 25, 1965
Sire: Bats
Dam: Lyn Mar Acres Sweet Stuff
B/O/H - Walton
Own2 - Scaife
Own3 - Benelli
Many have seen this photo before but most never get tired of it. It is from the December 1967 cover of Popular Dog magazine. “Butch" was bred, owned, and shown by Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Walton. There is a story that when a judge asked about the winning 6-month-old's name, Peg Walton told him and said that he was born on Christmas Day. To that, he replied that since he'd been born on Christmas Day ... he would have named him Jesus Christ! Obviously, he was right, but his official name (Batuff) was from a combination of his sire and dam's names.
“Butch" was eventually sold to Mrs. Frances Scaife (a wealthy show dog exhibitor) and he was shown by a top professional handler, Jerry Rigden, but the magic just wasn't to be in the US all-breed rings. In his photo from the cover of the December 1967 Popular Dog magazine, he was born two years earlier so, my guess is that the photograph was made when he was between 20 - 24 months old. At the time, he was still owned by Mrs. Frances Scaife. "Butch" went back to LMA and was again sold but this time to Dr. Giuseppi Benelli in Italy where he earned his title (along with an Italian BIS award) and lived out his life. However, while in the USA, "Butch" sired at least 14 champions. Many, many moons ago, both breeder/exhibitors Francesco Lamarca and Bill O'Loughlin were separately able to work with him in Italy.
While researching, I've found that his name is spelled at the AKC with a hyphen (yet most after him did not) and that somehow, he has two AKC numbers:
HA766139 CH Lyn-Mar Acres M'Lord Batuff
(Basset Hound)
HA766138 CH Lyn-Mar Acres M'Lord Batuff
