Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 11 February 2012 - 02:02

Well, my horse liked to get bathed on a hot summer's day, but he did not like to go into water.  When we were trying to jump, I always got his super-duper effort if there was water to clear. He would jump a creek, stream, tickle, or puddle; but do not ask him to walk into water that did not have a clearly visible bottom. Also didn't like mailboxes, REALLY didn't like mailboxes! He was abused as a colt, I got him as a 4 year old, he was 16 hands, mostly black, & eventually roaned out to have a black spotted Appaloosa rump. He wasn't even halter broke when I got him, & I still have a misshaped knuckle from trying to load him into the trailer to take him home. Anyway, he would never have made a diving horse. He was happy to jump out of our fence & steal the neighbors horses too, & go crashing around the local cemetary.....made me very popular (not) with the local (like next door local!) church. My horse was a bad, bad boy! Loved him! jackie harris

My ole broodmare would wade into belly deep water-lay down and roll-when she disappeared under the water it would totally freak out the current foal.
