Pirates Lair

by Pirates Lair on 16 October 2011 - 01:10

I hate Halloween because I have to carve to many pumpkins, put up to many scary decorations just so a lot of little children (who are not concerned with a aaaalledged Evils of Halloween) can have some fun tricker treating one night of the year. Grrrrrrrrrr

Am I to believe that none posting here, have never gone tricker treating?

In my own words, I don't discourage people and I don't judge people but the words that I spoke from scriptures disscourages people who walked not uprightly according to the truth of gospel.

God bless your heart,

Shtal :-)

Here is my definition of maturity!

Hebrews 5:11-14

Translation1
Concerning him we have much to say, and {it is} hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes {only} of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

Translation2.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Corinthians 3:2

Translation1
I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able {to receive it.} Indeed, even now you are not yet able,

Translation2
I haue fed you with milke, and not with meate: for hitherto yee were not able to beare it, neither yet now are ye able.

"That's 500 pumpkins a day that have to be gutted, carved and placed, and that's a lot of man hours," said Griffith, who hopes cool, dry weather prevails through early November so the pumpkins last longer.

The display, he said, will be built during a six-day span and he hopes to have it all completed for Trick-or-Treat on Thursday, Oct. 30. It will fill up about every free spot in his yard and porch, and even on his roof.

"Until you see it, you don't really appreciate the effect of the lights and music," Griffith said.

He knows people do love his crazy pumpkin creations. From his own children growing up to his granddaughter now. And when he feels overwhelmed or has doubts about doing it, he remembers an old lady that visited about five years ago. She told him that seeing what he had created rekindled the wonderment she felt as a child.

"She was crying, and I was crying," he said. "Because it gave me a legitimate reason for doing this."

Griffith's Pumpkin House is located at 748 Beech St. in Kenova.

Indeed :-)

I speak for the truth! - No hard feellings, make sure God bless you on Halloween - according to Philippians 3:7-8. And your maturity level is very clear - according to Hebrews 5:14.

Take care and I truly done with this topic!
