vk, your dog doesn't need structured training to compete in rally. As long as it knows and obeys basic commands and as long as you understand the rally stations and don't miss any, the dog will qualify. When my dogs DQ'd the novice exercises it was because I missed a station or did the exercise wrong. It might be fun to try it.
We don't have to do much in the US to enter a rally trial. Just fill out a simple entry form and include the check...that's it.

Barn hunt isn't offered by the AKC, it is sanctioned by a separate organization. You can pay the AKC to put your barn hunt titles on your AKC pedigree, just as you can pay to have your IPO titles added.
