Mithuna

by Mithuna on 08 June 2017 - 02:06

Bee when I read many of the statements made by you and others about the GSD, it conjures up in my mind the image an old Lady ( Hund? Hex? Sus? ) walking the streets with a SL looking GSD and everyone is coming up to the dog and petting it or giving it treats.
Sorry, but this is the impression you guys convey.

Mithuna,
Your suppositions are hysterical, moreso for the manly-man suppositions I would attribute to your aesthetic. If you need more specifics to that description, I can gladly oblige.

Ha-ha-ha, suffices for me.

Now, let us get to the meat of the post: You have a fat dog and are afraid to show it with a stack photo.

@beetree
Im sure there are things other than my dog that you need to be concerned/ worried whether or not  its fat.

Stop the back and forth personnal comments.

Just post a clear, unfiddled with picture of your dog standing from the side. That such a simple, common sense request to verify your Topic statement is constantly met with aversions and diversions, leaves readers with a hole the size of the Titanic of doubt, as to its veracity.

That's why your dog looks puggy throwing a ball is not high intense exercise if that is the range of your dogs exercise would barely burn the food she is eating never mind the fat she is obviously carrying. Sorry about the editing bad spelling😲

Mithuna doesn't even own a dog, he  calls yours ads asking About dogs for sale without any intentions of buying anything , I don't know the guy but i don't think anything he says makes sense and frankly tired of his nonsense . Sorry mith but I blocked your number cause I got tired answering the same thing over and over. Nothing personal but u bring it on yourself , back up your claims.

Removed personal insults to other members that you have absolutely no clue about. Any further nasty insults from you and you will be BANNED.

Removed comment as I'm sure you know by now not to question Admin decisions on the forums, you can PM me if you wish. If you can't abide by the rules then maybe you should find a site that allows your ignorant nasty insults.

Well I guess here I should point out that there is some partial truth in the picture Mithuna conjures up of me (can't speak for the others, obviously). I've never made any secret of the fact that ONE of my connections with the GSD breed was through my mentor's Show / breeding kennel. And yes, I used to walk nice SL-looking dogs around. The resemblence sort of ends there, however, because although those dogs were people-friendly (being showdogs), most of the time the general public (rather than other dog walkers) made to AVOID a Shepherd or two walking towards them in the streets. Even though they were under control. The old "Alsatianphobia" is still quite strong in UK society.

That did not stop people who were less scared having a quick pat as the dogs walked past, as I was describing not long ago.
Occasions on which the dogs were fed anything by strangers were extremely few and far between.

However ... my friend did not only have Showdogs in her household. For a proportion of the twenty-plus years I had the run of their place, her DH worked Security Patrols. (This is where I met the Mannus T son and grandson). They also occasionally found dogs for the Police and Prisons services, of their own breeding or obtained from other sources, usually rescued strays. As he had also been a Police civilian driver, there were a lot of Police officers in and out, either for dogs or social reasons. In addition, I had Police contacts / friends of my own.

My mentor had gone into SL from being an Obedience competitor, and Judge. So she was famiiar with working dogs. Indeed, for her last 3 years or so on this planet, she worked her (SL) stock in IPO, as facilities became more available.
Yes, she was 'guilty' - along with MOST of the Show community - of not working her dogs before that; but they were all taught basic Ob and given plenty of exercise. She encouraged me when I took over a bitch from her and changed her from a showdog to an Ob competition dog.

During the course of 50 years around GSDs I have cared for and exercised not just those SL dogs but also some "guard dogs" belonging to a local haulage yard when I was a teen; managed a private security kennel for a dozen years; walked around with at least 3 retired Police general purpose K9s. So you are only partly right, Mithuna; and Shawnicus, you can go stew Removed personal insult. mrdarcy (mod)

I really would have liked to read the "personal insults" - it´s always good to know to whom you are talking to....
Mithuna and Shawnicus: I am 53 years old, I guess I am still faster and overall fitter than you have ever been, and I guess I know more about "working skills" of "working dogs" than you will ever know in your whole life...

Out of my posts you describe me as an "elderly woman, handling a showline dog, well socialized, best buddy of everybody" - now my guess:

Mithuna: Introverterted mid 40 male, academic degree ( informatic? statistics? ), trying to train his body, although not "sporty" at all, no fighter, as a teenager maybe even a looser, loves family and his dog, bought a "DDR" line dog cause he thought that´s the "real deal" for a "real man", doesn´t tend to ask for opinions, but tends to ask rethorical questions only, wants to be confirmed, never questioned, because he believes in his outstanding intelligence, loves wife and child, because of that will not buy another dog ( afraid to loose his family because of the problems already existant with one dog ), not able to understand genetic drives of a dog, overwhelmed by nature, but willing to "accept" and "justify the deeds of his beloved dog, be them good or bad

Shawnicus: Extroverted male, maybe 30 ( or a little less ) years old, no academic grade, sporty, healthy, strong, but overall not successful, got a dog because he wanted to get "the" job, no own family, no social skills yet, dogs for him are "weapons", no individuals ( although his heart tells him different, he tries to not care )

Am I right? Am I wrong ( and in which points) ? Do you like it?

Kind regards
