So sorry folks I have not signed in much lately.  Yellowrose was right when she told you all I have a new dog that I've been working with now.  She's quite a handful and much more than I expected.

Anyways here is the update...the muderer is behind bars awaiting trial.  He was the good friend of the people who were killed.  Go figure!  I kinda suspected this was how it would turn out.  If you google Double Homicide in Linesville PA you will see the stories.

As for Thunder he is doing absolutely FABULOUS!  Humane Society people kill me...so full of shit and no nothing about this breed.  They were even adament that the dog didn't even remember his czech commands...Really?? Funny he remembered them when I gave them. lol  The first few weeks we were extra cautious and just watched him closely...he was FANTASTIC with the kids and other dogs BUT he was very protective of us.  He'd growl at any adult that came too close to my husband and I but we found that if we allowed the person in without Thunder seeing him first and bring the dog slowly to introduce the "guest" on lead the dog was more apt to relax a bit and not be so guarded.  Now he is fairly used to the house rules and routine.  In the day he knows it's not uncommon for kids to come and go in and out of the house but it seems he just knows when it's dusk and he knows everyone in the house is where they are suppose to be no one better dare try to come it because he WILL eat you.  It took him much longer to accept men coming here than women but he does not discriminate when it comes to protecting his home.  He's so serious about his "job" that when I was away in June a housekeeper tried to crate him in the garage at night because she just thought that's what she was to do...well Thunder busted through all 5 crates she tried to contain him in.  He just doesn't want crated at night. He either lays by the front door or next to my bed facing the door.  My 4 yr old daughter ADORES him and he's such a loverboy.  My little one had started this fear of sleeping in her bed alone and quite honestly I was getting tired of sharing mine with her night after night so against my husband's "house rule" of no dogs in the beds or furniture I called Thunder up on her bed and put him on a stay; he layed there with her until she fell asleep.  Problem solved! :)  Now every night when she protests about going to bed Thunder comes to the rescue.  He's the only dog my husband said will ever be given a free pass to sleep in the bed.  Truly a special boy.  Most loyal dog I've seen prove himself to his family.  He's staying forever...neutered or not he's my bud for life.  Him and his dad just chill around the house.  If the doorbell rings he's the first at the door carrying on like a wild man...his dad eventually rolls up behind him like "hey buddy, everything ok out there, holler if you need back up, I'm getting too old for this shit" :)  I'll post some pictures for you guys.  Thanks for your interest & concern.

I almost forgot to answer the question someone asked about wondering why the murder didn't kill the dog or if the dog had a chance to bite the killer....

To my knowledge the dog didn't get a chance to bite the killer.  I asked but no one seemed to want to share much details because of the pending investigation.  The only one I knew he bit was the trooper who thank God did not make the decission to kill the dog.  The bite from what I understand was not very bad and the trooper elected to call Humane Agents to extract the dog.

Why the killer did not kill the dog is another mystery.  We don't know if the dog was in the same area as the attack taking place.  Troopers suspect the dog may have been downstairs in the gameroom when he heard the comotion and by the time he came up to check it out the lady was dead in the kitchen with the killer gone.  It's believed the husband got killed first in the detached garage.  None of the neighbors saw or heard a thing.

Hans had asked why the first owner PTS a 3yr old dog...it was my understanding the dog was severly dysplastic and needed to have an operation he was told would cost $3000 that had to be paid in full at the time of surgery.  The man has a job paying minimal money in a rural town so he was unable to afford the surgery in one lump sum so he had to put the dog down.  I couldn't fault the man for not having the finances for an unexpected situation.

Wow, he turned out to be a Wonderful dog. I sure would be thanking the Trooper, I find it so hard to believe he did not shoot him (he must be one hell of a guy!). I am so glad for Thunder and your family.  THANK YOU for the update, he has been on my mind. Now I can just think of him and wish he was ON MY BED.
