Which competition?

What I find interesting, in a funny way, is that the "positive" trainers I've know personally seem to get really frustrated and do extreme corrections when things fall apart in training (with their personal dogs). I am "friendly" with 2 people that refer to themselves as positive trainers and I was at an obedience competition in Evansville, IN yesterday where I saw some of the same stuff, people bragging about positive only methods... but then getting crazy mad and physical with their dogs when practice run throughs weren't good

There are no AKC OTCh dogs trained using the protocols on this site:
www.clickertraining.com

Most "positive" trainers will use "positive Punishment" (a physical correction) if it is something they must train to save the dog's life.  I started a dog in "Positive Only" training.  It did not work well (though I learned a lot).

I will not say it did not work well because it is the wrong way to train.  It may not have worked well because of my lack of mad skills.

There are things that, IMO, should not be "clicker" trained.  These things involve drive satisfaction and using the handler as a "gate" to drive satisfaction to do real life jobs.
