Kentucky Sheriff to FEDS - You will never pull guns out of this County.

HERO Alert !!!

Jackson County Kentucky Sheriff Denny Peyman has made it clear that gun laws which violate the United States Constitution or the Kentucky Constitution will not be enforced in his county.

I'm moving to Kentucky.

Now I won't have to buy a nail gun. LOL

Thanks BE

Ninja,

Surely it gives a name to who is shooting off rounds in assault rifles? Wouldn't it be interesting to know if someone keeps buying a certain ammo yet they have no record of a legit firearm that uses such ammo? Wouldn't that be handy information on a list somewhere, for the good guys?

I hear them skeeters get bigger the farther south you go. Let me know when you get to Kentucky! Except maybe in Alaska.?  ... I read they were the size of dinner plates.

Maybe we should register and mental health test anti gun people.  Lightbulb

Surely it gives a name to who is shooting off rounds in assault rifles?

Bee,

Lets take one of my guns for example here. I have a 22 rifle that holds more than ten rounds. Probably a good gun for squirrel hunting. Small caliber gun. So they would classify this as an assault weapon because it holds more than 10 rounds.

When I buy ammo for this gun, that same ammo is also correct for use in two 22 pistols I have. One has seven round magazines, the other has ten round magazines.

So if I buy 22 ammo they have no idea what guns are using it, Same with most other calibers.

Also there is an indoor shooting range nearby. Now one of the benefits of it is you can go there and fire a particular gun that the range owns. So if you are thinking of buying say a 9MM you can go test 4 or 5 different brands to see what one you like, before making a purchase. So if you bought 9 MM ammo for this purpose, it doesn't mean you own a 9 MM gun, in fact you may not own any guns.

By the way. The Canadian Government started a program years ago that required every citizen to register every gun with the Government. This cost the Canadian Taxpayers over two billion dollars to implement and run. They just recently dropped the whole damn thing because they admitted they wasted all that money and didn't solve one crime from the info they collected.

I'm telling you IMO registering ammo purchases is a total waste of time. The people who want these type of laws are not gun savy.

I'm also headed for Kentucky because I heard the women of Kentucky don't throw Crockpots at the men. LOL

Okay, then, what type of controls would work, in your opinion, to give the "good guys" a place to start looking, when the next deadly massacre happens because a paranoid prepper got shot, and his arsenal was raided?

Truth be told Ninja, I don't own a crock pot, either. Tongue Smile

You can't legislate away evil.  No matter how the anti-gun crowd tries to tell themselves otherwise.  Legal gun owners follow the rules.  There are already over 300 laws regarding the purchase, ownership, and use of firearms since 1999 (Brookings Institute) that are not enforced.  Before we add more, how about enforcing the ones we have.

Also ask yourself how long before the county is rallied to outlaw your favorite dog breed or even protection training (bite training to the uninformed public) when a trained dog gets out and mauls a child?  Will you agree that the dog breed needs to be regulated and same with protection training.  If you believe I am overreacting, my great uncle owned bully breeds for years and believed that they were the best family pet around and would roll over in his grave if he knew they were now banned in many counties, he would never have believed it could happen.

Too many people are becoming what a friend of mine calls "leeples" (lemming people).  These people will allow the government and media to tell them what to buy, what to eat and drink, what to think, what to feel, and what to believe.

When the Constitution was drafted, the 2nd ammendment was added for a reason.  They had just fled from tyranny in other countries and fought the same in this country.  If you say the 2nd ammendment was to protect hunting and target shooting, gee we don't need the big calibers or magazines and such, remember, back then hunting was how you got food for the table, it didn't need to be legislated since it was such a necessity and common place.  Ammunition was precious so target practice was unheard of, if you couldn't hit what you aim at, you didn't eat.  The 2nd ammendment was drafted for A REASON.

One of this country's first governmental gun grabs was confiscating the firearms used by the Native Americans.  There were almost 300 Siox who were massacred at Wounded Knee AFTER the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms.  The majority were women and children.  A rather good example of why we have the 2nd ammendment if you ask me.  Also a prime example of evil intentions behind gun grabs.

Ok stepping down off my soap box before I fall  Tongue Smile

Bee you really can't stop it completly.

Back before so called assault rifles existed, Bonnie & Clyde, John Dillinger etc. got FULLY automatic weapons by robbing the Police and breaking into National Guard Armories.

We have a difference of opinion in that you see assault weapons as the problem. I don't, the problem IMO is why are people commiting MASS Murders. The gun is simply one tool that could be used.

If they can figure out what caused the Challenger Space Shuttle to blow up, I'm sure they can isolate why people want to commit MASS Murder.

You can't correct any problem until you identify the cause.

Also you can't legislate Evil out of society.

Also the Revolutionary War started when the Brittish Redcoats began trying to take the early settlers guns.
