Also, RS, you are correct when you said "....it didn't just HAPPEN." In reality, it took millions and millions of years for nature to evolve and for wonderful animals such as the elephant to become as they are. But according to the bible, it only took seven days to "just happen".

Hund~~ I am going to tackle your question from this angle because the question you ask is something I have wrestled with ... It is my belief that God created Adam and Eve with autonomy. He gave them all of Eden and a parameter >for their good< ~~ don't eat the fruit !

God created them ---> gave them autonomy ---> gave them parameters for their benefit --->  allowed them to exercise their will ---> yet God is not to blame for their disobedience and is perfectly just in bringing judgement against them. He could never be the author of anything contrary to His nature, but reconciling these two truths is something I have been unable to do. God, who is perfectly holy, creates that which is capable of the contrary. Seems God is responsible for that, and that is a hard pill for me to swallow. That is essentially where faith is brought to the forefront. It isn't necessary, nor possible for me to completely understand all that God does. My faith allows me to trust, regardless of my inability to reason, rationalize, and reconcile that which God, in His infinite wisdom has allowed.

I am not through, I have things going on! I will be back ,,,,,

ML, I got that your post included "any human",including Christians. And I also see where it says"...out of the heart of any humans proceed evil thoughts, .....murders." Also, Ruger stating that ALL people, including children, are depraved. Its a sick concept, that every one is equally depraved and evil.

by joanro on 06 September 2014 - 16:09

BTW, ml, that quote regarding the kids at sandy hook is NOT what I believe, BUT, according to what Ruger and other have posted must be true.....that ALL people are depraved, and according t her, its evil to tell children they are innocent. THAT is screwed up. Tell that to the baby dying from starvation in the pic vk posted, with a buzzard waiting to feast on the child's shrivilled corpse.

Joan, I fully agree with what you say to Mountain Lion;  but I think that 'buzzard' is actually a vulture.Clever

HM, buzzard in NAmerica is not the same as in EU. In N Amer vulture and buzzard are interchangeable and we call your buzzard a hawk. :-)

I'll try and find it GSD.  You have to look at what a herb is, and  then cannibus.  The stalk is woody, unlike a herb. I think cannibus used to be classified as a nettle.  Regardless,  it isn't a herb like other herbs known for their aroma and healing properties.  (No need to smoke a herb for its health benefits).  Just curious, are you a pot head?  I never would have thought that, don't know why.  It's nice to know who's a toker and an alcoholic, makes it easier to understand where some of these posts are coming from.

Joan, the Bible does not say it was done in a week, as a day is like a thousand years.

Anyway, believe what you like, it's your eternity.

by joanro on 06 September 2014 - 21:09

OK, so a day is a thousand years,so six thousand years is still wrong. Are you saying that everyone who does not believe the bible is going to have an unpleasant eternity? That's not very tolerant of of people with a different belief. Anyway, thank you.

LOL, no, I'm saying who are you to say how long the earth has been around, are you that old?

and it is up the your maker as to where you spend eternity.  It has NOTHING to do with me. :)

RS, the Bible says one day is like 1000 year's and if you continue reading that verse it says and 1000 years is like one day. All it means God has no time. Plus Adam was created on day six and he died when he was 932 years old. So the creation account for Adam was literally one day, 24 hours.
