If god was perfect he would have made things perfect, I think you just typed an oxymoron. Nothing is perfect including any god, ever.

Ruger, I am NOT depraved. I do not subscribe to your beliefs and do not accept being called depraved. It's no wonder people commit crimes against others, they are allibied with, "I couldn't help it, I'm depraved." Total lack of self-esteem calling yourself depraved....no wonder the priests won't refrain from raping little boys...they accept that they are depraved. According your philosophy, every one is OK doing crimes against others and should not be prevented or stopped because everyone is equally bad and has no right to pass judgment against them...sounds like anarchy to me. That's really screwedup. So what gives the depraved nun the right to administer corporal punishment to a kid who asked a question beyond the nun's ablity to answer it? Oh, I think I know the answer; she doesn't have the "right" to, but she does it BECAUSE she is depraved.

What a crutch and cop out. Is that really how you feel about yourself?

hello Hund,, admin, and Joan . I am headed to work and can't address the questions you asked at this time, but I will , and am looking forward to it. And btw  Joanro ~  I don't care what you believe., believe what you like. I am giving my  opinion and you have yours....;)) admin  btw I don't believe there is anything wrong with a little of the herb now and then... I am not interested in what "religion " teaches, but rather scripture is my gauge ,,,,enjoy!! Lol ,,,:)

Ruger, I dont care what you believe either, until you go labeling everyone as being depraved. That is the main problem with religion; labeling others and including them in your beliefs...imposing your beliefs on others is wrong and presumptuous, IMO. That is why religious wars have been and still do cause death and destruction of people who are unwilling participants of imposed religious beliefs.

Was there scripture before religion?

OK, I'm one of those 85% Ruger was talking about that doesn't agree with her.  Yes, we are all born with a sinful nature, as you can see that in any child.  Selfishness is ingrainded in all of us.  When do you have to teach a child or anyone for that matter not to share?  However, all children go to Heaven, I have no doubt about that.  Hell was made for Satan, his angels, and those who worship him, NOT for a child that doens't even understand the concept until he is of an age where he can.

We all are sinners, we all lie, lust, steal, envy.  All of these things cause problems in society, everyone.  If you guys can't see that, you really need to get a new pair of eyes.  Just sayin'

Also I do not agree that God approves of SMOKING marijuana with the purpose of getting high, or any mind altering drug for that matter.  Pot is not a herb, but a thistle, truth be known.

Pot has good in it in other forms, no problem there.

RS, you don't see a difference between "sinner" and "depraved"? What's the "We" all steal, lust, lie, and envy" ? Really? Being "selfish" is not a given in all children. I have seen small kids that give their things to siblings, sharing what they have. Besides, if one watches apes grabbing as much food as they can and not sharing it is survival, not sinning...same for people on a very basic level. Anyway, its sad what has happened in all civilizations in the name of religion.

Yes, it is the same, where Ruger and I differ is on the child aspect.

Religion has caused horrible damage, no argument there.  True Christianity on the other hand doesn't.  Many Christian organizations help society, surely you can't argue that?  and yes, some ruin it, but there again, is our sinful nature.  Society is getting more and more evil by the day.  Just read the news!

Seflishness shows itself in greed.  Greed is all about getting more and more for ones self.  Even so called ministers are now preaching the prosperity gospel.  It's disgusting and I can see why people get turned off religion, but please know, almighty God is much more turned off.

You folks say there is no proof of God.  I heartily disagree. Check this out.  :)  Amazing to say the least.  BTW 7 is God's number.

God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.. . . .
.For example: the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
those of the canary in 14 days; -those of the barnyard hen in
21 days; The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days; those
of the mallard in 35 days;
the eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days
in a week!)

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.
The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the
same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned
that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on
two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it
can rise from the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.
A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How
wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and
segments, as well as in the number of grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number
of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has

an even number and the next row an odd number.
