Shtal

Hi Gouda! It’s been a while…Sorry to hear such news. I don’t believe God left you but I believe you became weak, you need to get up and start walking again in the Lord…The Bible teaches that we were created in God's image. God has many characteristics that we do not share. For example, we are not all good, all powerful, or all knowing. How then are we created in God's image? We are created in God's moral image. The law of God is not a set of rules which God arbitrarily imposes on mankind. The law of God is a reflection of God's moral character. The law is 'who God is.' God is perfect; therefore his law is also perfect. Since we were created in God's moral image, the requirements of his law have been "written on our hearts." We therefore know right from wrong and are to do right to reflect God's character. We shouldn't steal, for instance, not because stealing is bad (which it is), but because God is not a thief and we were created in his image. This also applies to drinking my dear Gouda. Sin then, is falling short of that which God has created us to be and lying about him by the way we live. We are all sinners first because we inherited the sin of Adam, and secondly because we all fall short of God's requirement to keep his law. Some people say that all sin is equally bad. How does it make sense that murder can be on the same level as a 'white lie?' Of course these sins are on opposite ends of the scale in severity, but either would make us equally undeserving of God's grace because both are lying about God. Sin is not a measure of how bad we are; sin is a measure of how good we are not - like Gouda felt in this thread. Rather than criticize the only possible source of fairness for his perceived lack of fairness, you should take into consideration how terrible drinking or example lying about God must really be to warrant an eternity in Hell no matter which sin we commit. 1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And I just wanted to let you know Gouda, God loves you and I bless you in the name of the Lord and will pray for you. Get up and stay strong, your brother in Christ, Shtal.

Hi SHTAL and all the other posters here . I have suffered off and on from depression for my entire life I have had some very serious episodes, and for me the worst part is that I truly feel alone and abandoned by God during these times. Alcohol is not in my life style. This is the first time
I have consumed alcohol since I became became a Christian in 1973. This current depression I believe has been the worst of my entire life.
Yes every one here,I had a great desire to commit suicide, and came close to doing it.
It takes a lot of guts for me to tell you posters all this. But God told me to tell all of you here.
I origionally told two people through PM. but God wants me to openly confess it.

John, think about your loved ones and how much they would mourn for you. Depression sometimes takes on its own power over one who suffers from it. When I experience depression, my dogs pull me out of it....look into their eyes and you can see the simplicity of life. Sometimes we humans make our lives so complex,it overwelms us and makes us feel mired. Look at life through your dog's eyes....things are not so complicated.

Gouda,

I hope your telling everyone has given you peace of mind. And that you choose to be at peace with your soul. That is what I continue to pray for you. Let God decide what is to end, in all things, too.

I would caution you to not internalize too much; I do not see that as a good thing. Live each moment knowing you do it with the love of your family and friends, who are here to share it with you. You have a beautiful family and beautiful dogs to count as blessings, and your being here, matters to them all. And to us, too, your internet friends.

Peace be with you.

Bee

Gauda:  Remember Satan is the only rejoicing that you have a doubt in your life about yourself and that you , a child of the one risen Saviour, are giving in to the efforts and goals of the World.

Be reminded"The  Jesus said to his Disciples "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me"  Matt 16:24

The world will entice you to adopt its goals and to invest in temporal things . RESIST the temptation to pursue your own goals , asking God to bless them..Rather, Deny yourself and join the activity of God as He reveals it to you.

Shalom

@ Gouda

Deuteronomy states that a prophet that speaks something that does not come true is not from Jehovah. The Watchtower has claimed to be Jehovah's Prophet. This is important to reflect on in light of the Watchtower's string of failed prophecies, such as that the battle of Jehovah would be within the twentieth century.
