I agree with Ajay. The nice thing about Bodo is he produces the working ability with out the hecticness. He is not all prey, very strong in defense. Can work "out of the box". So many times, the "strong" dogs have to be "heated" up to work well. Sire is Xasko and he is also known for his work.

Hi Sue: I worked Xasko as well. Bodo has much stronger grips than Xasko. Xasko was a good dog, but not in the same class as Bodo. I think Bodo got some of his working ability through his mother's sire, Illo vom bergmannshof (spelling?). The other thing is that it is very rare to get a three phase working dog from show lines. I definately don't have a problem with high drive, I find it makes working/playing more fun. And I don't have a problem throwing the ball a few hundred times while watching TV at home, which would drive some people crazy LOL. Thank you all for your input and links to your suggestions. ALPHAPUP I agree with what you say, this intensity she has is definetly ingrained deep within, that is what I hope to capture again. I've had countless compliments on her work ethic at shows, which tells me it is something special (at least in the AKC obedience arena). Unfortunately I am not ready to buy (I can't seem to pull my attention away from my girl right now to train a pup) besides my husband is already jealous of the attention I give her LOL. My goal, If I can find what I am looking for in showlines, is I would like to take a showline bitch to SchH 3 (easier said than done for a newbie, huh). I guess I won't know which line I will go with until I am ready to go shopping, as I don't want to "waste" anyone's time until I'm ready. But thanks for all of your help. Regards, Melanie
