Jen, no need to get testy. I am glad you recognized my plainly written post as obvious, as it was intended. Too bad your snipier comments are misplaced regarding my crystal ball and having mentioned Caleb. I assure you there wasn't a shred of ill will while doing so. Do try to remember that going foward.

I would venture to guess your original post was lacking a certain genuine quality as far as being "lighthearted" and to the nuanced ear, had the tone of a rather familiar sell.

Edited to add: As far as you missing knowledgeable nemesises, Slamdunc and Workingdogz come to my mind. Yeah, they both were awesome posters here, back in the day.

Read more slowly, Chaz. I said his MOTHER, Sina von der Emsaue, was (at one time) co-owned. Holy cow. You're a bit off the mark today. Wrong premise kind of makes your whole post moot.

I have nothing but nice things to say about Madox's owner. He did a fine job with a nice enough dog, then moved on due to a better fit with another dog. Big deal. Bubba mistook what I said about the seller's reason for selling so I explained further so as not to let anyone else get the wrong impression. I didn't say anything about him that he didn't tell me up front when I asked why he was selling the dog. I talk to him all the time and he's an extremely nice guy, and I consider him a friend. I have sold dogs, myself. It doesn't mean they're bad dogs or you don't care about them or you're a bad handler. They also just behave differently for different handlers, women vs. men, etc.

I don't need to prove a thing to you or anyone else here.  I have people I consider friends here from over the years, and like many others, those of us who like our dogs and are happy/excited about a new one sometimes like to post them. Not sure where the rule is that the anonymous critics must all approve of them or that we must justify everything we do just because we dare put our real names and dogs out there. I didn't make any wild assertions about Madox- all I did was post a few pics of him and a brief description of my experience thus far.

Closing statement...anyone else see a pattern of the type poster who has to $h!+ on everyone else and their dogs? Comical turn the thread took, from a lighthearted "I got a new dog!" intro into a witch hunt by the usual suspects Almost like the good old days, except the nasty ones don't have the knowledge to offer like the old timers did. The exchange of information is what made this place great- the battles were just something you dealt with, the price you paid for the knowledge. At least the old group was arguing about dogs and concepts a lot of the time, not just bashing members' personal dogs and taste. None of the current group of nasties really offer any good info, unfortunately- just pervasive negativity, so that's what we're left with.

Jen the only part of your post that was relavent to my direct question was this;

"Yes, I'd have bought him if he weren't V rated, IPO3, KKL. But I'd have paid less Shades Smile ! And I'd not offer him to outside females. "

Thanks for that part, the rest?? A bit over the top.

We have lots of epics here where breeders that don't title, rubbish titles, yet they always be buying titled dogs to breed from, I may have mistook you for one of them. I certainly am not going to trawl thru your posts but I do believe you have dissed titles in the past, I will be first to apologise if I am wrong.

Next time a titles are BS fight breaks out on here tho I will hope to see you defending their worth and defending IPO because you admit, at minimum, they add real monetary value to your pups and there ain't nothing wrong with that as long as the money receiver isn't on the other hand dissing the worth of  IPO titles.

My original post on this thread was merely pointing out what I believed to be the reasons for the GSD 's decline in this world. I'm sorry it happened to be on your thread. I'm sorry to have not died of utter amazement at how beautiful your new dog is. That's just not me.

This is a public forum. It is mainly about GSDs. If i can't give my honest opinion on the breed and breeding, I don't know why I'm here. I would think, as a breeder, you would aplaud my sentiments and know that i have the breed' s best interests in mind.

You addressed me and I simply responded. Enjoy your pretty dog. I look forward to seeing the puppy threads. :)

Beetree, you change your posts so my responses don't make sense, then you say "edited to add" something you did add, but you don't address that you also changed other parts of the post. So slick! But, umm, no. Not the ones I was thinking about. Previous decade, posters with real experience, not afraid to disagree with each other, exchanging valuable information (about dogs) even if their experiences contrasted sharply. At least there was a lot of content for a newb to begin researching and digging deeper into. Now it's all virtually meaningless attacks on individuals, their dogs, their ethics, their photos, etc., usually done by a poster with one or two dogs, a chip on their shoulder, and a lot of free time.

Pete, I didn't write the whole post just for you, bless your heart. ;-)  I do appreciate even a miniscule hint of an admission that you may have spoken a little out of turn. I have long said titles and breedworthiness do not go hand in hand, but it's more a case of not all titled dogs are breedworthy, and some untitled dogs are. The title simply isn't what makes a dog breeding quality or not. It's a breeding *credential* in many countries, but it should not be the *sole* criteria in my opinion. Exceptions should be made in individual's minds for exceptional dogs on both ends of the debate (which again goes back to interpretation of the standard and the ideal). But let's not hash that over again on here- we still have the "magic wand" thread going on addressing that, which is where I spun my title off of anyway.

Chaz, well, you're certainly in a better mood this morning. Good! Enjoy your day. Maybe if you get into GSDs, we can talk about your vision for the breed.

I'll leave you with a pic. This was a thread about pics of a new dog, after all. DogTeeth Smile

Jen, the tit for tat, back and forth stuff gets real boring fast, wouldn't you agree?

Let's be clear---you also have changed your posts with edits with no credits, and we all do that. I choose to make clear one of my edits because it refers to a latter post, instead of making a new post. I wouldn't call that slick, myself, but an honest attempt at clarity.

That is a nice picture of Madox, I hope he gets to sleep on your son's bed.

Maybe if I get into GSDs? Really? I'm not the breeder here. I didn't start a thread looking for people to drool over a dog you have had in the classifieds for 6 weeks as a stud dog. You claim to be the breeder. Why don't you tell me what you are looking to produce with this dog and the Capri females? I'm sure the previous owner sent numerous videos and yet they are so sacred, you cannot and will not show what you were bragging about by posting the title of this thread. I wouldn't have even clicked on your "look at me" thread had you not titled it such. I'm surprised you didn't link the classified ad as a stud dog.
It isn't that I'm in a better mood. I just don't think you are worth the emotion and time to put you in your place. You claim to be trying to educate the lesser educated people that frequent this board. So do so.

What qualifies one to truly be into GSDs? By being a backyard breeder? That's interesting.

Maybe I'll start a thread titled "best working dog ever" and post a few pics never showing the over the top drives and nerves. I'm sure the newbs will just take my word for it. I mean, since I'm so knowledgeable, and all. Hey, if I say it, it's true. This is the internet. If it can't be proven false, it has to be true.

I never attacked you. You start taking jabs at me because I disrupted your blatant thread to showcase your pretty dog. Carry on.

Admin Is it ok toThumbs UpChaz's post without fear of being deleted / mod edited?

Why do you refuse to follow the TOS as Mrdarcy has pointed out to you so many times

Why do you want to cause trouble Yes want as I am sure this is not how you act at your place of work nor encourage your children and wife to act towards you.

I am showing you what you did wrong again

That wall that you are aiming for is getting closer.

He is very typical of his breeding. I adore his temperment, his good looks are just icing on the cake.
