Once KGB, always KGB. I have to believe he views Ukraine as part of the Sov-, er Russia, at least on a level, and made statement to that affect regarding the Russian people in the Crimea region. Of course, there are strategic interests at stake, both military and economic. In that, I think the approach here simply must be different than it was in Syria. Sadly, John Kerry is an absolute buffoon, opening his mouth Saturday in chastisement of the Russian incursion. I fear nothing good will come of backing the Russians into a corner here.

More poop to add to the pot of turmoil.

As China flexes its military might, with huge increases in defence spending and increasingly assertive patrols in disputed territories, Japan has compared the tensions to those between England and Germany before the First World War.

So far it has been a war of words.

However, historian Niall Ferguson has warned that US President Barack Obama’s policy of non-intervention, or, as he puts it, his being “resolved only to avoid being George W Bush”, also resembles the incoherent foreign policies of British Liberals a century ago before the First World War.

Policy of non-intervention? Name me one country that has spent more in blood and treasure to intervene around the world. While our own countries infrastructure is crumbling. There are many places in turmoil look at Bulgaria, the country is on the brink of total collapes, due to pillaging all it's natural resources by the EU and west. Might want to talk to some of the people that live there.

This is precisely what comes to mind when I watch the hypocrisy flow from Washington, and it has been going on for as long as I can remember. Here, the difference is perhaps the way in which opposing nations are painted as barabarians when they proceed with an ounce of honesty.  I wouldn't make excuses for either side necessarily, but selling me the bill of goods as such is an insult to my intelligence

China Joins Russia In Support For Ukraine Military Action

Sky News: Russia has said China is largely “in agreement” over Ukraine, after other world powerscondemned Moscow for sending troops into the country. Hundreds of Russian soldiers have surrounded a military base in Crimea, preventing Ukrainian soldiers from going in or out. The convoy blockading the site, near the Crimean capital Simferopol, includes at least 17 military vehicles.
