John did you know that David Koresh thought God spoke to him and so did Jim Jones.  Turned out real well for both of them and all who followed them didn't it?  Kind of the path I see you following.  Feeling you have a special understanding that others just don't have the ability to.  Did you know and I"m not saying this to be mean but truly want you to think about it. That this is actually a prime example of several mental disorders?  You condemn someone then refer to them as Friend then condemn them again.  Tell me how this is making the word of God appealing.  You attempt to beat people and then think you are going to sway them in a positive way?  you can't make negative into a positive.  You twist scriptures to try to make it seem you have great authority.  But you don't seem to get the basic grasp of the bible or of God's qualities.  His formost quality is love.  Where do you think you are showing that quality?    Jesus said those who had seen him had seen the father.  He could make that statement because he perfectely reflected the fathers qualities.

ruger i would have kept posting until someone like you finally acknowledged it's existence, i think that was the first time.

hate to break it to you, it is not a metaphor or a symbol or me, it is an innocent child, stop trying to not see it, you have made a good start, enough with trying to metaphor or excuse it away.

your omniscient god sees this, does not act, lacks power to or just doesn't care?

vk you know I like you and respect you but on that one I disagree I will send you a pm tomorrow when I sned out the others giving a brief explination of why God has permitted suffering.  He does care and that is actually why he has had no choice but to let it go for a time.  It is more like a legal action. I will send it to you and ask it satys between us.  I have been having problems with my computer on the job site so if I am having problems getting out please be patient.

Rs~ God does not give certain ( special lol ) people special revelation. Gouda has zero basis to approach Reggie in the manner he did. I love Gouda, but he is in left field biblically speaking. I know / I know you don't care what I think! Lol the only thing Gouda doesn't like about Reggie is his very small similarity to Carlin.,,,

Vk ~~ I am not ignoring it. I am as aquatinted as you are with the sufferings in this world. God is not the author of suffering, but sin is. God allows this for a time. Why? I don't have the answer to why. Do I trust that He has a purpose? Yes, I do. That's all I can say on the matter.

Red

(1 Timothy 3:5, 6) 5 (if indeed any man does not know how to preside over his own household, how will he take care of God’s congregation?) 6 not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up [with pride] and fall into the judgment passed upon the Devil.

(1 John 4:1) 4 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
(1 Corinthians 6:17) 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

None of these scriptures have to do with judging anyone.  when a person is truly trying to teach someone they don't just throw scriptures or videos at someone.  They try to reason as Jesus did.  He used illustrations that people could relate to to make a point.  He was trying to win hearts not to beat them down.  The bible also says by its fruits it would be known.  In other words If you see apples you know its an apple tree.  If you see peaches you know its a peach tree.  God's formost quality is love,  Jesus said those who had seen him had seen the father in that he perfectly reflected his father's attributes.  Through out the Gospel accounts you see Jesus' tender Love.  Is that what you see out of John?  His attacks and what he says doesn't show love.  So what does his fruits tell you he is?  You decide.  Be honest and take an honest look.  You can PM me if you wish.

Confused Smilehmmm,, Vk you have a big brain. :)) I stated on another thread that this is the most difficult of all for me personally to wrap my head around,,,I love the Westminister Confession and this is the best I have heard it explained.

“The almighty power, unsearchable wisdom, and infinite goodness of God so far manifest themselves in his providence, that it extendeth itself even to the first fall, and all other sins of angels and men; and that not by a bare permission, but such as hath joined with it a most wise and powerful bounding, and otherwise ordering, and governing of them, in a manifold dispensation, to his own holy ends; yet so, as the sinfulness thereof proceedeth only from the creature, and not from God, who, being most holy and righteous, neither is nor can be the author or approver of sin.”
