I will say that after seeing literally dozens of people shot, I've never seen anyone walk away from a .45.
You need to get out more, people walk away from 45s all the time.
Shot placement > Caliber. Every time.
I have seen people walk away from 9 MM rounds on many occasions.
Of course shot placement is critical, but not as critical with a 45. It's hard to walk with a shattered femure or hip.
Poor Shot placement and poor FMJ ammo is likely the culprit.
Youre talking millimeters in diameter in 9mm vs 45acp- (11.43mm). Very negligible. And a slower bullet with a 45.
In FMJ ammo, 45 is clearly better. But with good Hollwpoints, such as todays ammo manufacturers, a 9 is fine.
If someone wants to test the effectiveness of a 9mm, theyre welcome to stand in front of my Sig P226 9mm.
Also surprised no one like the Tokarev in 7.62x25.. Bullet Goes through kevlar like a knife through butter. Russian gun,very reliable and cheap to shoot, 1911 design.
Real world shootings say this, with Hundreds of real law enforcement shooting encounters:

9mm= 91% 1 Shot Stops in 200 shootings, Federal ammo.
9mm= 88% with Speer ammo.
357 Magnum=96%
45 acp= 92-96% (depending on load
40 = 94%

I too, however, am a fan HK, and the HK USP 40 in particular... Thirteen in the magazine, one in the pipe, and never a single malfunction in 16 years of ownership.

"the three components of stopping power- marksmanship, marksmanship and marksmanship"
For my semi-auto, I use a Bianchi AccuMold Thumbsnap holster.
Blackhawk makes a lot of different kinds of holsters, which one? http://www.copquest.com/26-series.htm

Glock 22, is over 60% of the US Police Market.. a Fine gun, as is the Sig and HK. 40 cal is a good caliber.
A lot of my friends that are in different departments are all vacating the 9mm.
Over penetration and bias.
The infamous Miami Shootout threw a monkey wrench at the 9mm, and not the poor shooters (FBI)
The 9 is fine, but Im a fan of the 40 also. A nice compromise but hardly any noticeable difference ballistically.
Navy Seals use 9mm Sig P226 as do many US Government departments.
This illustrates my point.
(Note: 10mm was put on as a joke however and isnt reflective.)
