Hundmutter

by Hundmutter on 25 July 2014 - 08:07

Just remembered a really weird one.   (I flicked on Bananas In Pyjamas this morning while

zapping through TV channels, and that reminded me.)

Back in the day when I didn't have my own permanent resident dog but used to be in & out of my

home with one or other of the various GSDs from Ronnie's kennel, the kid next door dubbed one,

Wesley,  "Banana Man".   For some reason known only to her;  I could never get a satisfactory

explanation out of her.

When Beau-Bo wants to come inside and thinks everyone has forgotten him, he makes a high pitched plaintive intonation. At which point hearing this, I feel I then must impel a child into action with the request,

"Will someone, please! Let Squeakers inside!"

Yeah Bee, but does he answer to "Rhino"  ?

by beetree on 03 August 2014 - 13:08

We do call him that when he makes his Rhino noises, which are usually made during some kind of complaint that does not involve doors, but for which his equilibrium in how he views the world has been encroached.

And when he fell in the pool by accident, snapping at flies, I had to rescue him with these soothing words,

"Rhinos don't float! Use the steps....to get out... This way!"

Poor baby! He is leery of the different pool levels. Prefers a gradual entry. I am going to have to give him swimming pool tips and lessons. It just is not coming to him naturally. That is how I know he has not a drop of Labrador in him.
