HEY EVERYONE!  The DON IS BACK!

www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/bulletins.read

Geez, I just KNEW you couldn't stay away! LOL!

Yes, by all means, do a check. Dropping by unexpectedly is a good idea, too. Though that will probably be the day I decided NOT to clean the runs until mid-afternoon....   (Hey, at this time of year, the poop is easier to pick up when it's frozen!)

Post-script: Be aware that kennels DO change. I've only owned this place since June of last year, so anything posted on the net about it probably applies to the previous owners. And I've heard a few horror stories from people about them...

<<So you did a background check on every teacher your child had? Every sports instructor? Bus driver? >>>

If the proper protocol has been followed,  by the time these people ARE hired to do the job, background checks and the proper research have been done BEFORE our children ever get exposed to them......However, some may fall through the cracks and slip by....There is an exception to everything....

And yes, if I felt there was the need, I did do a background check on certain ones named above.Through the private resources available to me, and google,  I did and still can find out anything I want to on anyone..

I have been told that www.beenverified.com is pretty good also, and is available to anyone.....

Today in our School systems most parents in the Kindergarten thru \9th grades are taking it upon themselves to look into each teacher and they do now have a request list for who you want your child to have as a first choice teacher..Many a parent have discovered unknown facts by being at the school and getting involved and helping weed out the teachers who have falsified their backgrounds and info so as to hide facts not found.]

Background checks do not always allow some facts to be known. If suspecting a teacher is a prerequisite, my daughter will always check many people and many places to assure these teachers are up to SNUFF  as the expression goes.

I believe the dogs in my life deserve the same as well as me..I board my own gsd that I  sold and a few of my church friends who refuse to take their pets to a veterinirary clinc for boarding or use a facility in local towns run by usually Organized companies not people. There are exceptions to every rule..

Many bad tales about the treatment of GSD at vets or boarding places.  Yes  AND SPEAK TO ANIMAL CONTROL HEAD SUPERVISOR AND GET ANY REPORTS   in the county they abide in or where they use to reside

Ask for references.  A good kennel will have plenty and will be happy to provide them for you.  Please remember that there will be poop in some runs , some dogs might be unhappy etc. Always ask for a kennel tour.

If we need to have someone tend to our dogs, I will get a member of our family or a very close friend to do it for us....If neither are available, I change my plans...I have nothing against anyone who boards dogs, but our dogs never leave our kennel to be boarded.. The person taking care of them, comes to our kennel....

Nona, that's probably the safest thing to do.

Nona, same here. I don't trust many people with my dogs so if I have to go somewhere it's either family or very close friends that will be taking care of my dogs.

Boy, if the Bartmess story on the GSD side today doesn't prompt people to be more cautious, I don't know what would.

"How about the kennel owner/operator does a background check on you just to see if you are as big a moron as you seem to be? How about maybe they don't want your dog in their kennel because of how you raise it and treat it? Does the kennel owner/operator get extra credit for babysitting your spoiled little critter when it won't eat or won't eliminate on concrete and has to be walked 5 x's a day? Does the kennel owner/operator get extra credit when your dog barks and howls all night in their kennel because he/she is homesick? Does the kennel owner/operator get extra credit for caring for your dog when it gets a paw caught in the fence or gets a "sour" stomach or heaven forbid, gets kennel cough? Does your kennel owner/operator get extra credit when your dog destroys kennel equipment or BITES A KENNEL EMPLOYEE?" "My point is, it's a two way street. Don't take people who care for animals lightly, it's a very low paying profession and is normally done because the people love animals. Without boarding kennel facilities, many of us would not be taking our little luxury vacations, or visiting kids at school or visiting family around the holidays or attending to sick loved ones or making it to important business functions. It's like raising children these days, everyone feels that "their" child is more entitled to preferential treatment than the next family's children. We are all equal, no one is better than the next. I would like to think that the kennel owner/operator would treat your dog as if it was their own, no better, no worse." I wonder what I would find if I did a background check on a shit head like you." Domestic violence? Child abuse? Animal cruelty? I never bagged anyone on this forum, but you chose to attack me. I reported you to the mods for TOS. they did nothing. Selective enforcement of TOS. I figure If i shook the tree a bit the rotten apples for trainers and pet care workers would come crashing down and you sure did.
