On the 'evolutionary scale', perhaps it is a necessary thing !   An alternative to

flooding, plagues, meteor strike ?

Maybe those 'ol 'balancing forces' of Nature are at work.   Maybe this planet

is becoming so over-populated that the expansion of the human species needs

to be curtailed.  Maybe, with no obvious route out into space / to another

planet,  there is an evolutionary trend towards making more people gay,  = less

people reproductive ?   Maybe, even,  you could believe there is a god and a devine

purpose behind that transformation ?

Makes just as much sense as some of the other comments on here.

PS  Who says, Bee, that 'the now'  IS the "pinnacle in time " ???   By what criteria / whose

theories are you judging that statement to be objectively true ?    What exactly do you think

that phrase actually means, anyway ?

by beetree on 20 August 2014 - 10:08

I see our expanded mind thinking caps were left off some of our godless heads.

I wrote the phrase so what do you think it means in the context of how I wrote it?

Really? @Lineage? So anyone with a large group of same sex friends is probably not straight. And that idea deserves a chuckle. Hmm. SMH

its a planned and unplanned choice that some make based on their chemical "state" (imbalance)...

I believe chemical effect is the cause, for example back in days the # of homosexuals besides the ones who were in the "closet" was far less, also far less chemicals were used on foods, meat producers were not injected with hormones to grow faster/bigger, to produce more...i cant remember where i read it but it stated a female who ate healthy fresh, none chemically altered food versus female who ate regular diet of fast foods, grocery pre made foods was more likely to develop faster, her body produced higher level of hormones, etc...so to me this has direct effect on males who are constantly bombarded with higher level of estrogen... if you test gay man you will find that they are low on testosterone...some prefer to have it that way...and from my personal experience and exposure to gay community in CA there are many gay man who request estrogen from their physicians....so whether people change their sexuality by choice or unintentional by being exposed to environment the reason for this "choice" is the same...if you choose to research and alter your chemical state by taking testosterone, or estrogen you will alter your state of sexuality....

If you  'test' gay men you will find they have the same range of testosterone as non-gay men.

What planet are you living on, LF ?

Most of those, gay or straight, who request to take oestrogens are trans-gender persons -

which is a whole different psychosexual ballpark.

by beetree on 20 August 2014 - 15:08

Actually, it was tested and concluded that gay men's brains are most like heterosexual women's brains. And lesbian brains when tested, show up to be most like heterosexual men's brains.

Fascinating stuff, especially when you start to interplay the dynamics with the new science of epigenetics.

Beetree, can I recommend to you the following book:

"Delusions of Gender.  The real science behind sex differences."

by the cognitive neuro scientist Cordelia Fine.

Icon Books.

From the cover 'blurbs' , review remarks:

"Impeccably researched."   "Every page reminds us that science is part of culture,

and that the struggle against sexism in the neurosciences and the struggle

against sexism in society are intimately linked."  "Refuses to be satisfied with the

delusional myth-making that often passes for popular science."   Even the Washington

Post declares it  "An irreverent and important book".

It is mainly about male / female inequalities & assumptions,  but touches on things like

"foetal testosterone".   [That's the stuff that proves me  n  Travels right about in-utero development

of gender and orientation, btw.]  LadyFrost ought to read it, too.

What did think you meant by the "pinnacle of time" ?   In context, I thought you might be saying

we have reached some kind of 'finished'  (perfect ?) state;  that evolution Stops Here.  How about

YOU answer the question - or I'll start to think Travels was always right about you. Tongue Smile

Hundmutter..stating what i know based on lab test results of actual people (patients) 100% of their charts were touched by me ...so same planet and actual pt. versus control groups of sponsored companies that tell you what they want you to know....Anyways...not a subject i am passionate about, i just stated my opinion...besides what turns us on/off is all a result of chemical reaction...if u can kill sex drive with pills what makes you think it cant change it?

add:

I do agree with results being in the same range...our society levels of acceptable levels have been altered as seem fit for someone with agenda/$/ego/power...for example Pepsi had acidity level that was out of "safe" range for human consumption and would have to be transported as hazardous substance, range was adjusted to make Pepsi legal...(you can research that or attend OSHA class as I did)...so..to base argument on range on acceptable levels is ...how shall i say it nicely...ignorant...hence why most people think same way you do, don't get me wrong i thought the same thing before...take it as a different opinion because thats all that it is.

You have delusions of granduer.  What planet is she from?  Seriously Hundmutter, check your ego at the door.

There are 1000's of homosexual's that have gone straight, thanks to Jesus Christ that puts your theory to shame.  So there.
