ok, this is what i see, your boy is  cow hock in the back and front is very bad east and west , i have never seen a pup so bad in the front, but i have seen pups that were cow hock and did get better as they grew. i have always seen good  straight fronts. now the ears may come up or they may not. i can say i did had a pup once that did have one ear up at 9 weeks and the other one took till 8 months , but did come up all the way.
size is not always the real problem some lines just dont have good ears. and the best structure.

now your female pup is better than the boy , but she does have the cow hock too.

both pups do seems to be of nice temp and good quallty.

i hope they get better for you.

@ 5.5 months, ears should be showing more lift, even if not all the way up. If you want to plan on showing him would be good to tape now rather than regret later. (remember if/when ever comes to breeding though that he started with weak ears and be sure the female involved has strong ears)  VERY VERY loose in the rear, cowhocked. He's got a lot of angle in the rear and at this age is immature and rather sloppy.  If you can swim him in a lap pool on a regular basis it will help tighten up the muscle/ligaments without placing stress on the hips.  He looks a bit down on his front feet... probably age related also... Don't try to bulk him up too  much. He's a nice "wet" type dog who is going to go thru some growing phases between now and 2 years.  You might want to keep him on grass/dirt rather than concrete as much as possible also.

did you say you breed the pup at this age??

sable59:   I ask a week ago the same question and no one has answered me. I thought we were talking about a 5 mon old pup  then poster says can't give him back ,,I already bred him.??????  now what does that mean....why are we all concerned about ears and all this if this poster has already done the unpardonable deed??????? maybe I have dill weed in my brain...???but I am lost also...???

Please answer both of us ?

 YR,

I think what the OP meant is she is the breeder of the puppy, she has the parents or one of them and he is a product of her own breeding that is why she can not return him to the breeder, as she would return him to herself.
The reason I understood what she meant, I think is because English is not my mother tongue, so when words are tilted that does not make a difference for me, lol.

what is the pedigree?????????

by klekoni on 18 October 2010 - 10:10

Thank you Ibrahim for the explanation. Yes it is correct the puppies are a product of my breeding so no other breeder involved.

This is the pedigree of the puppies:

I have started him swimming and  of course we are keeping him lean.
