3 of Rose's puppies were bought sight unseen.  For each of these, I spent no less that an hour or more with the perspective owners, talking about their expectations, knowledge, what puppies I had, the puppies personality.   I ultimately told many people "no" I did not have what they are looking for.  Of the 3 sold, every new owner has notified me many times about how "perfect" the dog fits in their home and life.

I think sight unseen could work, if everyone involved takes the time to really talk about it; not a wham bam sales pitch.  The new owner really needs to be clear on what they are looking for and the breeder really needs to know their puppies.

I would be willing to purchase sight unseen, but breeder beware.  I ask a lot of questions (some would say I give the 3rd degree) and the harder you try to sell me, the more likely I am going to walk away.  Teeth Smile

It can be done. However if a titled dog is only 3 K you better look for a reason why. if you can't find anybody to back the seller up with track record of honest work, then don;t buy the dog. If a seller has never put a title on a dog and has done nothing but a back yard crap on a leash, then there is no way in hell I am gonna believe their ability to honestly describe a dog based on experience. I will ask somebody in the area to go and test the dog in a new environment with the owner out of the picture.

The best way is to go and see for yourself or work with someone who can help. I am not saying that every seller is a potential fraud, I am saying that my medium drive dog description can be someone high drive dog description or low drive dog description. Some people see a high prey dog as the ultimate animal I like more balance. Some people like dogs more on the defense side that lack prey but can still work nicely. So everyone has a preference in a dog and has to be very careful to make sure the seller understands what the buyer likes and the buyer knows what type of dog the seller has and is describing.
