That they're intended to be a working breed, not a showdog, and as such, ALSO a social companion toward its family, and stable in public.

what the CORRECT temperament is for the breed.
looking back at the other replys, i was a little surprised more poeple didnt have that answere.

Tons of energy, always need something to do. Give 'em a job,.
If your not up to being vigilant and trainingthen not the dog for you. You've got to be active and really into your dog, if not, your GSD will know. (as will any other canine) Best dog I've ever had!
