Here goes my opinion...and I am breeder...hehe

He is NOT too thin...he needs CONDITIONING!!!!!! He is also out of coat which makes him look thiner...

This is an Ingodd's Albert son and he is typical of him. He has a barrel chest like his father and he cannot have alot of weight on him.

Allison..he looks good!!!! He needs to be exercised (walked) a lot now. Eve is also very thin with a broad chest but even a tiny bit extra weight she looks obese.

Especially with NASS coming up...get him conditioned!!! He needs to be out every day working.

Are you having one of Julie's group handle him? Are you putting him in the progeny group for Albert? Eve will be.

As for his stack...he is bridging. Set his front first, you have nice space between front legs, and the the back. If you look at him, you will see him leaning back. Have Brad or someone stand in front with his ball or somthing to get him to pull (lean) forward.

Hi,

Hope this helps.

Good size, medium strong dog of very goog proportions. The coat and musculature condition ,needs to be improved.     Very good masculine head and expression with dark eyes and very good placement of ears. High withers ,firm back ,with a croup of good lay but short. There is a dip behind the withers, but still shows a very good backline Shows very good front angulations but The upper arm is slighty short and steep.  The hind angulations are very good with a very nice turn of stifle. Shows the correct depth of chest with good spring of ribs and a good underline.  The dog stands strait in front with correct pasterns.

Sorry Neohaus I just could not see the barrel chest (no malice meant ). possibly you know and have seen the dog , but the photos don't show it

He's very good for his age subject to everything else being correct.

It'll be very good to see this dog  when he's  two and a half years, in good muscular and coat condition.

Thank you so much everyone, especially Sonora with your critique and comments.  Although what can I do to improve his coat?  He just recently finished blowing it.  I'm also very excited and looking forward to how he turns out around 2-3 years of age when he's finished growing and filling out.

Thank you Amy for the sugguestions on conditioning...we've started right away.  The long walk kicked both our butts.

Yes we will be showing at the NASS....Julie's daughter is going to handle him for me, and she wants him to be in Albert's progeny class as well.  She also gave me the option to use a German Handler she's bringing in, but not only is that more expensive than I thought...lol...I also think Ike will be more comfortable with a female handling him.

He's been fortunate to have his picture several times on Mittlewest's website under Albert's progeny page =)

There is a spray coat conditioner and hair spray at Petsmart that I keep handy when my males throw the coat or a female that people have to see when pups get ready to go home..Never fails the coats start to look rugged...spray twice a day and brush..in only a day or so  much better....so before you take out and keep it up...

Also the thread that 1doggie 2 posted the recipe for the sulfur tablets and the recipe for skin conditioner may help...they are  a herb and health food store ingredients ....take a look and try as breeders us that to recover the dam or sire....in a dire straight.

Derm care     skin and coat spray conditioner   with lanolin     Veterinary formula

*chuckle*  well you've asked at what'll probably be his absolute worse period of development...  He's headded into or is already in a growth spurt I always called "The Uglies", even in the very very very bestest of dogs.  At his age his coat is part way between puppy/teen and adult, so looks a bit unkempt.

Though I am a bug about keeping dogs (especially @ this age) on the lean side I'd have to agree that he could use a bit more meat.  This I judge primarily by the muscle mass in his rear leg, as well as his topline and shoulder. Yes conditioning would help, but part of that would be to add another 5+ pounds as well as walking or swimming.  The weight's not horrible, but you would definately  want a bit more if  you if you are showing him... don't take my statement to mean unhealthy thin... but he could add weight and still be a slim dog.

Beyond the condition.. he's a LOVELY headpiece... good expression and set in the ears, nice nice dark eyes.  The angles on both ends look good,  would expect him to move quite cleanly. Good length in body, with the length coming in the ribs rather than a long loin (which means his topline should be strong when moving). He's got a good chest in spring of rib, and the depth will probably come as he matures.  Once he fills in  I think he's going to be a very very nice dog.  Don't make the mistake of deciding he's going to stay like this forever.  Not sure how old he is, but wouldn't really expect him to fill out completely til he's 2+ years old so be patient.
