Just in agreement about the cast iron. I have an old old cast iron skillet--I also have a Wearever dutch oven from the 50's--you can have anything in my kitchen but those 2 things. I love cornbread made in that skillet and no way can you cook real fried okra or yellow squash & chicken in anything but. I flour my chicken, dip it in milk, and then reflour it and cook. I season my flour with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Yummy........Also my skillet is awesome for pineapple upside down cake. Something about the cast iron carmalizes the sugar better then any other pan I have used.

I bought a new dutch oven last week..seems several of mine walked off.
I bought the ones made in Italy..
My kids sold a bunch of my kitchen pots in a garage sale 4 yrs ago..THey called it cleaning out MOMS extras...
They say I do not need 4 of everything.. I say I do.. Leave my Kitchen alone....

I hear ya bout staying out of my kitchen. It might look junky to you and you might not think I need all that but I say I do too. LOL. The joys of being single and my only child grown and lives far away!!!!!
Hey did you guys get big rains down there? A friend posted a pic from the Terrell paper and it looked like they were having a little flooding problem there. If you did good cause I know you needed it but I hope all is safe.
PS the gallon jar of salsa made me want to load up my tortilla chips and come on down!!!!!!

I have plenty of chips...I am picky I eat ON THE BORDER CHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring your own , load the dogs and let me know 24hrs ahead so I am home..
NO NO RAIN at my house till about 2 hours ago and I only got about one foiuth of a cup...I has rained all over and around me for three days...CLOUDED up, thundered, lightening in the East and the west....20 mph winds in Canton, and in Van County...went north and right over N. TYLER>.
I live south of tyler and I live on a hill in the country and I never get much rain.
I was at Walmart tonight in Tyler on 110 N and it poured Cats, DOGS and ALLIGATORS>..it was so loud you could not even talk inside over the noise..lasted almost an hour...got home ...a cup full and Abby was outside in a shutdown kennel and the little pit puppy got left out in his play pen with a kennel..to get in,,,but my son was gone to the lake...SO all is wet but nothing to brag about.
We are having lots of wind and rain all over the area but YELLOWROSE GOT NONE>
Breeze and cool nights and the temperatuire this year is very pleasant..nothing over 89 this week since Saturday and last week only up to 97 on three days and one night it was in the low 80's
I gave a friend some of my salsa so next week I will make another big batch..IT is crumptious...
THE man who gave me this recipe said once I ever made it I would never buy it from a store again...HE is probably right...
