can't get on FB, i want to see actual certified organic/ethical/hormone-free labelling, is that on there.

this hormone thing is dubious, not sure about US but there are strict guidelines on hormones in poultry where i live, in fact it is hader to buy hormone containing products than to buy them hormone free. many advertise hormone free which is only true becuase all of it is, so chumps pay way more for the identical product from the same sources, both hormone free. i am not sure of US regulation on labelling.

anyhoo koach's ideolgy is nothing that can not be acheived with raw if that is the way you choose to go.

food labelling takes an industry proffesional to actually decode it, i know cos i used to live with someone in the biz that had two jobs, one job for a food giant that labels stuff and anohter job consulting to gov what the complex labels mean.

i asked if that's was a conflict of interest, apparently it is so intentionally complex that only a pro in the industry can actually understand it. the labels are designed to hide info, not reveal info, or at least obscure the true contents and processes involved.

the internet is full of bollocks on this issue, only people in the industry actually know or understand it because they write the labels and they write the labelling laws.

i have sat in meetings in a protein rendering factory, all process control flow charts and mathematical algorithms, you think you know something as a consumer, you don't.

vk4, do you ever research a topic before you spout about it and end up with egg on your face? Koach is not at all misguided.

Research how Orijen ingredients are sourced, then post back, if you'd like. Good grief.

she made the claim, it is her job to show the proof.

jen stick to taking pretty puppy pictures, facts go way over your head.

vk, you sure know how to take all the fun out of this forum. Do you have an alcohol or drug abuse problem? Many here think you do. Keep it up and drive away more with your stupidity. I wonder how much longer you are going to be allowed to destroy every thread to which you respond.

by vk4gsd on 04 April 2015 - 23:04

meh, who needs stinkin facts on a thread right?

funny, i have heard others say the same about you with your hysterical outburts at anyone who would disagree with you.

how is that FB group you were trying to recruit members from here for and were going to start some months ago because you didn't like the content here?

i think it is pretty obvious who started the personal attacks on this thread.

vk4, Koach is a man, a pretty knowledeable man who has been around a while. Just sayin'.

Have you checked into Orijen sourcing yet? I'm asking because I can't understand it; I just look at the pretty pictures and I was hoping you could explain it to me. Wink Smile

Nan, I like Orijen and Victor Ultra Professional. It's only 17% carbs. I feed it to my guy with mast cell tumor when I'm out of raw or to add calories. He gets about 1.5 cups per day and lots of raw. I haven't found anything with lower carbs. I have to order it and have it shipped from Amazon because there are no distributors anywhere near me but most areas have more, so check locally. Like Orijen, it has a dense feel to it and the dogs really don't eat much. Stools were good from the very first meal of it, though my dogs are so used to eating lots of different stuff I don't really have digestive issues anyway.

jen, i haven't checked, it may well be what koach thinks it is. i was hoping HE (sorry) would provide more detailed, verified info.

if the product was available here  would look into it, as such i am only concerned with what goes in my own dog's mouths.

ETA, if i wanted paid photos of my pooches i would def seek you out, that is a compliment in case you did not notice.

Jen:  regarding the Orijen  which one do you use;  I am trying to stay away from chicken and the 6 fish was too rich.  Not greatly fond of Acana, really want almost pure meat, no fruits/vegi's would be ok by me.  Looked into Victor but will look again as it has been a while.  Definitely do not want any Flax...  Thx for sharing,  also use some raw and some HOnest Kitchen...
